First image of Karl Urban as Judge Dredd

We all remember Sly Stallone’s 1995 JUDGE DREDD film, mostly from a negative point of view. Since then, fans have been craving a newer, better, more true-to-the-comics film. A while back, we found out that would be a reality, and that Karl Urban would be donning the helmet.

Even though the film is still pretty far off, we are already getting our first shot of Urban in the role, which you can see above. Continue reading “First image of Karl Urban as Judge Dredd”

Denis Leary joins SPIDER-MAN cast

The floodgates of information on the new SPIDER-MAN film have officially opened the past couple of weeks, and every day it seems new information is beginning to come out about the film. Now we are starting to get information about some of the background characters in the film. One of those roles, that of Police Captain George Stacy, father to Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), will be portrayed by sometimes funny-man Denis Leary.

Leary is one of those actors who can completely encapsulate a role to a fault. He can convincingly take up a comedic role or a dramatic role and pull you in completely. He’s proven that time and time again, between his past comedic works, and his impressive work on Rescue Me. Continue reading “Denis Leary joins SPIDER-MAN cast”

SUPERBAD writers to re-write NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen are turning into pretty much an unstoppable comedy writing force, one that has yet to have a mis-step. With such credits as SUPERBAD, PINEAPPLE EXPRESS, and upcoming THE GREEN HORNET under their belts, it makes sense that they would be brought on to a revive a floundering comedy from the grave. That little film just so happens to be NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH.

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH is a film that once had Ruben Fleischer attached to it, about group of men who comprise their Neighborhood Watch group who ultimately come across a plot to end the world. Seems like a fitting story to hand off to Goldberg and Rogen. Continue reading “SUPERBAD writers to re-write NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH”

First image of John Cusack as Edgar Allen Poe in THE RAVEN

If you would have told me that John Cusack could pull off Edgar Allen Poe, I never in a million of years would have believed you. It’s hard to imagine him in a role of the sort, and it just doesn’t seem like a great fit. But, according to this photo, I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Channing Tatum in negotiations for 21 JUMP STREET lead

Channing Tatum

Okay, I’ve admitted it many times before – I am not a fan of Channing Tatum. That being said, there are certain roles that do fit him really well, they just aren’t the route he usually takes. Now he is in negotiations to take up a lead role in the 21 JUMP STREET film adaptation, which sounds like a really good choice for him.

Currently, we are unsure of the role what Tatum would be playing, but we are led to believe that he would be taking up the role of Schmidt. Schmidt is one of the undercover guys who goes to the high school due to how young he looks. Continue reading “Channing Tatum in negotiations for 21 JUMP STREET lead”

Cameron Crowe's WE BOUGHT A ZOO gets Patrick Fugit and Elle Fanning

Finally it seems that Patrick Fugit might have a chance to have the career he deserves; he should have had this after he proved his talent in 2000’s ALMOST FAMOUS. Fugit has been cast alongside Elle Fanning in Cameron Crowe’s much anticipated next film, WE BOUGHT A ZOO. This will be Crowe’s first film since 2005’s oft forgotten classic, ELIZABETHTOWN. The cast for the film is quickly shaping up into something very special, as Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson are taking up the lead roles. The reunion of Fugit along with all his other co-stars is certainly something of marvel. Continue reading “Cameron Crowe's WE BOUGHT A ZOO gets Patrick Fugit and Elle Fanning”

3D without glasses a futuristic possibility?

3D

Whenever you try to think of an authority on 3D technology, it isn’t much of a jump to end up on James Cameron. Despite your feelings about AVATAR, it was a groundbreaking film with revolutionary 3D. The next logical step will certainly have to be 3D without the glasses, something Cameron believes will be obtained, but not till we wait a little bit. Years even.

Cameron feels that 3D without glasses is still about eight to ten years away from happening, a time frame that seems somewhat justifiable. Look how long it took us to achieve the kind of 3D we have now accomplished. It took decades. The kind of 3D we’ve come to expect is nothing like the 3D that we remember from the eighties. MGM wants Bond back by 2012

It seems like it’s been a while since we’ve had a Bond movie, a lot longer than a Bond fanatic like myself can really handle. Unfortunately, with MGM’s financial woes as of late, 007’s future has seemed not so bright. With the news that MGM has worked out THE HOBBIT, it seems they are doing everything they can to get franchise number 2 back on track.
