Image released for upcoming Nickelodeon "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" series

Nickelodeon is one of the few cartoon channels that I find still shows quality cartoons that adults can get into. Look at Avatar: The Last Airbender, a series that many people consider one of the best animated series of all time. Back in 2009 Nickelodeon acquired the rights to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, exciting fans like myself to no end.

Just the other day, they released a new image and some info about the upcoming Avatar sequel Legend of Korra. Today, they released an image for their upcoming CGI Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. Check it out after the break! Continue reading “Image released for upcoming Nickelodeon "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" series”

When time permits, Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright will pen THE WORLD'S END

Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Edgar Wright burst on the scene with a film called SHAUN OF THE DEAD, the hilarious yet serious comedy about a man and his friends trying to make it through a zombie apocalypse. Following that, they went on to make HOT FUZZ, a film that is often considered a spiritual sequel to their first film. The third film of that spiritual trilogy, THE WORLD’S END, has been talked about for a long time, but has yet come to fruition.

The reason why is simply because they are so busy. But the boys are trying and planning to find time to get the script written. You can check out what Simon Pegg had to say after the break! Continue reading “When time permits, Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright will pen THE WORLD'S END”

"The Legend of Korra" cast list released

I jumped on the bandwagon of Nickelodeon’s hit series Avatar: The Last Airbender very late in the game. In fact, the series had been finished for several years at that point. When the end of the series was reached, I was still craving more. I dreamed and hoped for a sequel series for many months. Then last summer, they announced one. The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra takes place 70 years after the original series with a new Avatar in place.

The cast of the original series was easily one of the most endearing factors of the show. Now we know who we can expect to voice the sequel. Continue reading “"The Legend of Korra" cast list released”

Sean Anders and John Morris could direct I HATE YOU, DAD

Sean Anders and John Morris are on fire these days. After writing SEX DRIVE, SHE’S OUT OF MY LEAGUE, and HOT TUB TIME MACHINE, they are fast turning into one of the the biggest duos in cinema comedy these days. They know how to make funny movies, and it isn’t hard to get pretty excited their future projects.

For all of you who liked SEX DRIVE as much as I did, you might have a reason to be interested in Adam Sandler’s upcoming film, I HATE YOU, DAD, as Anders and Morris may direct the feature. Getting pumped over an Adam Sandler movie isn’t a common occurrence these days, but the actor can do a pretty good job when all the right things are set in place for a project. FUNNY PEOPLE is a great example of this. Sandler did a pretty fantastic job when Judd Apatow was involved. Maybe this would be the case with Anders and Morris in the directors’ chair for I HATE YOU, DAD. Continue reading “Sean Anders and John Morris could direct I HATE YOU, DAD”

"How I Met Your Mother" gets two more seasons

How I Met Your Mother is one of the only sitcoms that I really follow closely. Even though the show is currently in its sixth season, it still has my attention, even if it has lost some of the luster it once had in the past several seasons. Some shows stay close to the heart though, and with CBS’ glory child Two and A Half Men having a foggy future, it makes sense they would put faith into a solid show.

That’s why CBS has picked up HIMYM for another two seasons. Continue reading “"How I Met Your Mother" gets two more seasons”

DIRTY GRANDPA coming to a theater near you

Sometimes a film comes along that seems so absurd that it might just work. Even the title can be something so succinct and to the point, yet perfect for that exact reason. This is one of those stories.

Universal has decided to pick up a film called DIRTY GRANDPA, which is seemingly about…a dirty grandfather. The film is set to be “an R-rated comedy centered on a recently widowed, sexually aggressive grandfather on a road trip with his straight-laced grandson.” The grandfather also realizes that his grandson’s fiancée isn’t right for him, and tries to resolve the issue. Brie Larson joins 21 JUMP STREET

21 JUMP STREET is the next in a line of remakes and adaptations, following MIAMI VICE, STARSKY AND HUTCH, and A-TEAM by being the next classic TV series to get the big screen treatment. With the cast being led by Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, the film is lining up to a fun comedic action movie and is being likened to the BAD BOYS franchise.

Now the film has seemingly found its female lead. Brie Larson, who recently showed up in SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD as the infamous Envy Adams, lead singer of The Clash At Demonhead, has been chosen to take up the lead. She will be filling the shoes of the character Molly. The film is being directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who recently directed CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS. Continue reading “Brie Larson joins 21 JUMP STREET”

AVATAR 2 to take place under the sea?

AVATAR was a huge commercial smash, that goes without saying. But it was also James Cameron’s brainchild, a project that he had conceived of long before it ever reached theaters. With both of these things considered, it isn’t very surprising that Cameron would want to make a sequel to the first film. We’ve long known at least one was on its way, but little was known about the film itself.

Michelle Rodriguez has given us an idea, however, and let us in on what we could expect from the sequel. Rodriguez says that the film will take place under the sea. We have heard this in the past, but this could be further proof that the film actually will be underwater. She also hopes to be involved in some way, since her character died in the first film, even if it only consists of a set visit. An underwater AVATAR film could be pretty intense, just imagine the creatures they could create for it. Continue reading “AVATAR 2 to take place under the sea?”

Elizabeth Hurley cast as "Wonder Woman" villain

Elizabeth Hurley. Oh, how I remember Elizabeth Hurley. She was a major favorite between myself and all of my friends back in her heyday, then she seemingly disappeared. Many of us have wondered where she has been, and why she hasn’t been in the spotlight in a while. That seems to be changing, however.

Hurley has revealed, via her Twitter account, that she will be taking up the villain role in the upcoming Wonder Woman TV series for NBC.

The role will be a guest-starring stint, and is said to be the role of Veronica Cale, a woman who runs a pharmaceutical company that produces a drug that gives its user strength. She plans on using that drug against Wonder Woman, who she is jealous of. The role is Hurley’s, pending some visa issues. Continue reading “Elizabeth Hurley cast as "Wonder Woman" villain”

Are these the titles to the upcoming HOBBIT films?

THE HOBBIT is finally happening, and now we seem to be getting news bits about the film constantly. A couple of weeks ago we got a photo of most of the cast at a gathering, and before that we got word that Saoirse Ronan (who was in Peter Jackson’s last film THE LOVELY BONES) had joined the cast. It looks like the ball is actually rolling this time.

For this week’s tidbit of HOBBIT news, sources say that New Line has taken out a couple titles that many believe could end up being the actual titles for the upcoming films. Hit the break to check them out! Continue reading “Are these the titles to the upcoming HOBBIT films?”
