Alexandra Daddario cast as lead in THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D

Leatherface is approaching his return in THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D, which is quickly coming together as production approaches. A couple of weeks ago, we got a little bit of insight on the plot of the upcoming film, and were introduced to the female lead of the film, Heather.

There is now a face to the character, as Alexandra Daddario (PERCY JACKSON) has been cast in the role.

In the film, Heather travels to Texas to pick up an inheritance she was awarded, but finds out she shares lineage with none other than Leatherface. What a shock that must be, not exactly the thing you’d hope to pop up on ancestry.com. Joining her will be Tania Raymonde (Lost), who will play her best friend Nikki. Jason Sudeikis joins third season of "Eastbound & Down"

Jason Sudeikis, star of GOOD OLD FASHIONED ORGY

This year has been pretty big for Jason Sudeikis, aside from his job as a cast member of Saturday Night Live, he has been beefing up on his feature film work. Most recently, he co-starred in HORRIBLE BOSSES, which came out just this past Friday. Although his film career is blossoming at a very fast rate, he doesn’t seem prepared to give up on television just yet.

Sudeikis is now going to be involved with the third season of Jody Hill’s HBO series, Eastbound & Down.

For those of you who haven’t seen the show before, it follows Kenny Powers (Danny McBride), a brash, drug-abusing, ex-baseball player after he has lost the spotlight. The first season followed him as he moved back to his hometown, the second season placed him deep in Mexico. The third season will mark his return to America. Sudeikis will be playing Shane, one of Kenny’s new friends for the season. Continue reading “Jason Sudeikis joins third season of "Eastbound & Down"”

Abigail Spencer joins OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL

Abigail Spencer is moving her way up the actor food chain, and after having a stint on AMC’s hit show Mad Men, she seems to have projects lining up. Soon you’ll see her appear in the action-packed COWBOYS & ALIENS, and she also has a part in McG’s THIS MEANS WAR.

Now she is all set to join James Franco in Sam Raimi’s OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL.

The film will follow Franco’s character as he finds his way to Oz by flight in a hot air balloon, where he must deal with three powerful witches. Spencer will play a woman who allows herself to be a part of Oz’s magic act while he is in Kansas. The part is likely to be small, but that stepping stone is a great early step for Spencer. Mia Maestro joins Oliver Stone's SAVAGES

Mia Maestro is about to make a splash in the upcoming film of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN as the character Carmen, one of the many vampires we are sure to see in the film. She isn’t looking to go anywhere after the film comes out, though, and is already starting to set up other roles in some varied films.

You can now expect to see her in the upcoming Oliver Stone film, SAVAGES.

The film has a pretty impressive ensemble cast lined up already, with Emile Hirsch (INTO THE WILD) and Aaron Johnson (KICK-ASS) as two marijuana kingpins living in Laguna Beach. When their friend, played by Blake Lively (GREEN LANTERN), is kidnapped, they are blackmailed into helping out the Baja Cartel. Other cast members include Benicio Del Toro, Uma Thurman, and John Travolta. Maestro will play Del Toro’s wife in the film, a woman who is seemingly a soccer mom, yet has a dark gang-riddled past. Seth MacFarlane is one of the biggest names in television these days, which makes it kind of surprising that he is just now getting around to his feature directorial debut. Regardless, TED is on its way and MacFarlane is lining up his cast with greatness and many names who are recognizable to his Family Guy fans.

Elizabeth Hurley cast as "Wonder Woman" villain

Elizabeth Hurley. Oh, how I remember Elizabeth Hurley. She was a major favorite between myself and all of my friends back in her heyday, then she seemingly disappeared. Many of us have wondered where she has been, and why she hasn’t been in the spotlight in a while. That seems to be changing, however.

Hurley has revealed, via her Twitter account, that she will be taking up the villain role in the upcoming Wonder Woman TV series for NBC.

The role will be a guest-starring stint, and is said to be the role of Veronica Cale, a woman who runs a pharmaceutical company that produces a drug that gives its user strength. She plans on using that drug against Wonder Woman, who she is jealous of. The role is Hurley’s, pending some visa issues. Continue reading “Elizabeth Hurley cast as "Wonder Woman" villain”

Joel McHale joins the stuffed cast of Seth MacFarlane's TED

Joel McHale is on fire right now. From being the nonstop hilarious host of The Soup on E!, he is also one of the best parts of NBC’s Community. Community is easily one of the best shows on TV right now, but it’s also one of the best comedy shows in years.

JACK THE GIANT KILLER snags Ewan McGregor

The people behind JACK THE GIANT KILLER have been going cast-crazy lately, and are seemingly announcing the entire cast. First they announced that Stanley Tucci and Bill Nighy were joining its cast, then they announced Nicholas Hoult (Beast in the upcoming X-MEN: FIRST CLASS) a  the lead role. Now we are hearing about another big name joining the cast, and this one is a Jedi.

Ewan McGregor will be taking up the role of the King’s Guard Leader who joins Jack in his giant-killing adventure. This seems like a really fitting role for McGregor to take up, as he’s played a great mentor before. With Bryan Singer directing, I have a feeling they will give him plenty of moments of bad-assery. Robin McLeavy cast as Mary Todd in ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER

It’s no secret that THE LOVED ONES is a huge hit over at GATW, with Rusty giving the film a perfect score in his review. One of the best parts of the film is the work by Robin McLeavy as Lola, “The Princess.” She crafted one of the creepiest, scariest horror performances I’ve seen in years, catapulting the film from great to unforgettable.

Now she looks to be getting her shot at making a splash in the U.S., as she has just been cast in the role of Mary Todd in ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER. Continue reading “Robin McLeavy cast as Mary Todd in ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER”
