TUCKER & DALE VS EVIL has been out on the film festival circuit for a while, and many of us were fortunate enough to see it at Sundance 2010 or SXSW 2010. The film was generally well-liked by those who saw it, and it seemed very likely that the film would get picked up by a studio in no time. Then, nothing came from it.
That has officially now changed, and TUCKER & DALE has found distribution. Magnolia’s Magnet branch will finally be putting the film out this summer, by releasing it to Video on Demand for people to rent at home, starting on August 26. A month and change later, on September 30, the film will hit the theatrical market. Seems like a pretty good release plan for a film like this, one that is seemingly becoming more popular these days.
For those who don’t know, TUCKER & DALE follows our two heroes, played by Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine respectively, as two rednecks who find themselves caught in a bloodbath. They are innocent, good people who are mistaken for horror movie-style killing maniacs.
I haven’t seen the film since SXSW, so I’m excited to see it again and show it off to my friends. Will you guys be renting it on VOD or going out to see it?

Can’t I just do both? I loved the film at DIFF and the director was a totally cool guy
