"24" film producer confirms a 2012 release

The long-gestating 24 film has been a lot like a game of red light green light. Just as things are really starting to get going, something gets in the way causing the film to be delayed. Although the film seemed to be on pause, Kiefer Sutherland was claiming that the film would make a 2012 release.

Although the likelihood of that seemed unclear, 24 producer Brian Grazer just confirmed the 2012 release.

Brian Grazer, via his Twitter, had this to say about the film:

“Got off the phone Keifer yesterday and we are very excited about producing the ‘24′ movie for next year.”

With as excited as everyone seems to be about the film at this point, maybe they needed some of their misfortunes to get the project on the right track. It seems to be in good hands, however.

I’m just glad that they seem to be done playing games and are ready to make the film. 24 fans should be excited to see Jack Bauer back in action, this time in a movie. Hopefully they can really amp it up for the film version, and give us something worthy of being a feature film. With as excited as everyone behind it seems to be, it very well could do that.
