First image of John Cusack as Edgar Allen Poe in THE RAVEN

If you would have told me that John Cusack could pull off Edgar Allen Poe, I never in a million of years would have believed you. It’s hard to imagine him in a role of the sort, and it just doesn’t seem like a great fit. But, according to this photo, I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Hit the break to see the full picture!

Seeing Cusack in the full costume, beard and all, almost seems like a revelation. He is an unexpectedly wonderful fit to the role visually, and his superb acting chops won’t hurt either. With a plot as interesting as that of THE RAVEN, it’s getting hard to not feel excited.

The plot follows the last five days of Poe’s life, which is shrouded in mystery. No one really knows what happened, just that his death was about as odd as something he would write. That leads us right into the plot of the film – Edgar Allen Poe goes after a murder who is bringing the deaths of his literature to life.

I’m fully behind this film, and Cusack’s role in it, now. What do you guys think?
