Finally it seems that Patrick Fugit might have a chance to have the career he deserves; he should have had this after he proved his talent in 2000’s ALMOST FAMOUS. Fugit has been cast alongside Elle Fanning in Cameron Crowe’s much anticipated next film, WE BOUGHT A ZOO. This will be Crowe’s first film since 2005’s oft forgotten classic, ELIZABETHTOWN. The cast for the film is quickly shaping up into something very special, as Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson are taking up the lead roles. The reunion of Fugit along with all his other co-stars is certainly something of marvel.
Currently it is unclear as to what character Fugit will be playing, but it seems safe to assume that he will not be one of Matt Damon’s kids (he’s clearly too old to pull that off). We do, however, know what character Elle Fanning will be – a 13 year old girl named Lily who works at the Zoo’s restaurant without proper adult supervision.
We can only hope that this film comes out to critical acclaim, as it might convince Crowe to take up the directors chair more often. As someone who was once one of the most revered names in the industry, we don’t need another five plus year break. So far, it seems there’s nothing to worry about.
