David O. Russell no longer UNCHARTED

A while back, it was announced that director David O. Russell was going to be adapting one of my favorite video game series, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, into a feature film. Although the game is already incredibly cinematic, many fans agree that an UNCHARTED film would be a great supplement.

Now the film’s fate is a little more rocky, as Russell has left the project.

Russell never really felt like the best pick for the film, so his departure is met with little contention. What isn’t met with such warm feelings is that this will most likely result in a delay in the film. It very well might be quite awhile before we see Nathan Drake up on the big screen.

Most likely, we will see some sort of casting attached to the picture the next time it pops up in the news. So until then, let’s hope they have Nathan Fillion’s head shot on file, as his Drake would be sublime.
