I’ve always imagined people putting their careers on hold for the opportunity to work with Steven Spielberg, and many actors do just that – for a while. Apparently, some of the biggest and best actors even lose that interest after a time, and Liam Neeson is proof of that.
After spending a very long time attached to star in Steven Spielberg’s biopic of Abraham Lincoln, he has officially pulled out of the project. Check out what Liam Neeson himself had to say about the role after the break!
“I’m not actually playing Lincoln now. I was attached to it for a while, but it’s now past my sell-by date.”
I don’t think it’s out of line to sense frustration there, but he isn’t exactly clear as to what he means. Could he just be over the project, or could he now be a little too old to play a younger Lincoln? In a world where Jeff Bridges looks 30 years younger in TRON LEGACY it can be hard to see things that way, but they are vastly different films.
It’s saddening to see Neeson leave the project, as he seemed like a great fit for it. Spielberg’s competency in filmmaking leaves me without worries, though. I guess we’ll find out if and when it’s ever made.

That really sucks because he would have been a great Lincoln. Maybe he'll take up the roll in Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter when that film comes out.

Good I want Spielberg to make another Indiana Jones movie, and get it right!

Haha, I specifically picked the picture that I did because it seemed very presidential.Neeson is a fantastic action actor, so he would rock Vampire Hunter.

I want him to do another Jones flick just as much as the next guy, but I still find this project compelling.
