ANCHORMAN 2 is totally dead; could STEP BROTHERS 2 happen?

The fate of ANCHORMAN 2 has been pretty crazy for the past several months, with off and on rumors running amok. That is, until Paramount took their stance with a resounding no. Although the cast and crew still seemed to have high hopes,  it even seems that Adam McKay has lost all hope and interest in the project. But that might not stop them from bringing another of their popular films into sequel-land.

Check out what he had to say after the break!

“It’s not happening, for sure, one-hundred percent. I’ll put it to bed. The only way it could come back [would be] in two years, three years, but to line everyone’s schedule up and to get everything done, and when it fell apart, to put that back together again your still talking about waiting. If I go do The Boys, that’s another two years, year and a half. You don’t know what people are doing when I get done with that. It’s a lot of work to line it up. That was why, no hard feelings against Paramount, we were doing many cool projects over there, but that’s why when it didn’t quite work out with the numbers it was like “that’s it.” You can’t wait for that or be in a holding pattern. But, oh well. Maybe it’s for the best. You don’t need sequels for everything. It was such a great experience doing that, but let it stand.”

It’s a shame that almost all hope is gone on the project, as ANCHORMAN is one of the better McKay flicks. I guess we can only hope that the heavens open up, and the project rises out of the ashes- Phoenix style.

Even though ANCHORMAN 2 might have been killed (by a trident!), the team-up of Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly in STEPBROTHERS might continue for STEPBROTHERS 2. Supposedly the cast and crew are both interested in revisiting our infantile adults and seeing what they’re up to after the creation of “Prestige Worldwide.”

Honestly, the idea of ANCHORMAN 2 is infinitely more compelling than STEP BROTHERS 2, but such is Hollywood. How do you guys feel about the fate of ANCHORMAN 2, or the idea of STEP BROTHERS 2?

  2. Tiger should quit trying to apologize & embrace his swinging & promiscuous lifestyle, just Like Hugh Hefner did. He could reinvent the sport & take into a completely new direction. Perhaps he could also start wearing clothes like the rappers that glorify such behavior in their music
