A while back, we caught wind of James Bond’s latest outing being put on hold due to MGM’s financial woes. After just getting over the heartbreak of that, we are now hearing that the film might be off altogether. Blofeld must be rejoicing right now.
EON, the company behind big screen Bond, has put out a disheartening statement that makes this sad news seem true:
“We do not know when development will resume and cannot comment further at this stage.”
This sounds an awful lot like the, “We know it’s over, but don’t want to admit it yet” statement. This could lead to Bond not hitting the big screen again for a pretty good while, unless MGM can get some help.
Have no fear, our favorite tux-wearing crusader will ride again! The franchise is still such a hot commodity. It is just sad that a specific film that was showing so much promise will likely never see the light of day.
