Chloe Moretz sure to wow again in HICK

Chloe Moretz has been on the web journalists’ radar for a pretty good while now. After popping up in the highly acclaimed 500 DAYS OF SUMMER, and then showing the world that she can KICK-ASS as Hit-Girl, we all are excited to see whatever she does next. One of the next projects she’s lined up for is HICK, which sounds extremely depressing if you ask me.

HICK is based off a novel by Andrea Portes, about a 13-year-old girl named Luli who decides to venture to Las Vegas after her parents abandon her. She is said to meet some pretty awful people as she hitchhikes to her destination.

Although this film sounds pretty painful to watch, it most likely will be a really well made, well performed film. There’s no doubt that Moretz is a really talented actress who certainly has the chops to pull off a difficult role like this. One thing that we can take from this, is that if she keeps it up she is likely to have a very long and plentiful career.

  1. If you actually read HICK (a fabulous debut novel) you'll discover that this 13-year old is a pretty well-adjusted young woman who takes adversity in stride and the ending is actually quite uplifting. She doesn't blame her parents or the world for what befalls her– life isn't always fair– yet she is willing to set out, not dwell on the bad stuff, and make something out of her life. That's pretty darn inspirational.
