It’s not a big secret that I’m a devout video gamer who proudly has picked up all three of the current generation of systems (I like to be diverse!). I’m almost certain that anyone who is a gamer like me, knows who Bioware is. Bioware is a game production company that is known for continually putting out extremely high quality games with long play times, and expansive new universes. One of the most popular of their series is MASS EFFECT for the Xbox 360 and PC. It seems that MASS EFFECT may be hitting mainstream film crowds, as Legendary Pictures has picked up the rights.
In fact, they have already brought on a screenwriter to make this happen, Mark Protosevich, who recently wrote THOR, will be penning the giant space opera. Producing will be Avi and Ari Arad, along with John Jashni and Thomas Tull.
I really dig the idea of a MASS EFFECT film because it has all the right things to make a great movie. The story is really great, with a really interesting universe full of amazing characters. It just depends if it is handled well.
Another big dissenting factor from fans,is that the story is too big to condense into a movie, since the first game takes at least twenty hours to beat. To be fair, a lot of that time was from fun missions that were loosely related to the main objective.
So for now, I’m in. I think this would be a really amazing universe to explore through film. It has potential to look really cool, especially if they use a lot of practical effects on the aliens Guillermo Del Toro style. But I have to wonder, would you guys like to see a MASS EFFECT film? What considerations would you like to see them take?

I love the games and a movie is beyond feasible but I really think they need the games writers writing it as its clear they know story and structure, and the cut-scenes/cinematics might as well be movies. I mean at least have them write a draft and then have a professional screenwriter go through it and then again let them have final say. I mean thats all it'll take to make this awesome.

That would be pretty amazing, but there are a couple things I'm thinking of concerning that.I'd certainly much rather have the game writers busy at work on ME 3, because I'd rather that be good than the film. But even if they brought on those writers, they might not be all that great at writing for film. So they wen't with someone they think will do a good job, and honestly they could have picked worse.I'm right there with you though man.
