First images from RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE

I remember anxiously awaiting the original RESIDENT EVIL film back in 2002, being that I was obsessed with the game series. Despite the fact that the first film had almost nothing to do with the game series, it was still a very enjoyable film. Even though the subsequent two sequels do involve the games more, they haven’t been recieved as warmly as the original. Now director Paul W. S. Anderson is taking another stab at the series, and we’ve got the first images.

Milla Jovovich will be reprising her role as the series main protagonist Alice, as will Ali Larter with her version of Claire Redfield. One of the most interesting additions to the cast will be Wentworth Miller (Prisonbreak) as the star of the second and fifth games, Chris Redfield.

What do you guys think of the project? Are you excited for yet another RESIDENT EVIL film?

  1. Like you most likely were, i was in line for the first installment of this movie HOURS before the movie began. Resident Evil was and still is to this day my favorite video game of all time. After seeing the movie, i remember having to make excuses as to why i liked it since it virtually had nothing to do with the game. I refused to watch the next two chapters despite the introduction of the very hot Jill Valentine…one night in a drunken stupor, i caved and sat through them both back to back. i couldnt have been more pissed off ever! i blogged about it on myspace (yea, it was a long time ago) and what followed were people who actually agreed with me…woo hoo right? WRONG…cuz now another Resident Evil movie will be made, and i can only assume it will be the same as the others…almost nothing to do with the game, no Rebbecca Chambers, no Barry to save Jill, and no giant snake that has to be killed with a grenade launcher…I want puzzles, i want mystery, i want a movie that follows the very first game i fell in love with. -end

  3. I'm pretty much with you. The first film is a good movie, it is just in the universe of the games, but not related other than that. Then when they brought in the game factors, they went downhill. Still, I have to see this movie because it is RESIDENT EVIL.I get what you're saying about how you want puzzles and mystery and such, but I'm not necessarily sure it would work. I don't know if you saw the SILENT HILL film, but they followed the formula the games have and it didn't work out that well (imo). We'll see with this one though. I'm sure I'll see it.
