Larry Clark's WILD CHILD is now SAVAGE INNOCENT, cast announced

A while back Ronnita reported on Larry Clark’s upcoming film, WILD CHILD, about a teenager who runs away from his abusive family. This project seemed right up Clark’s alley, as he usually makes his films about teenagers acting inappropriately or going through some sort of issue. We haven’t heard anything about this film in about six months, so many assumed it was dead – until now.

Next month, the film will begin filming under the newer and more thought-provoking title SAVAGE INNOCENT. The cast will include Ray Liotta, Rory Culkin, and Dakota Johnson. The film will be made with the very small budget of 3.5 million dollars, just enough for Clark to achieve a real, documentary style film.

It’s exciting to see a name like Ray Liotta working with Larry Clark, and I can’t help but wonder how big his part will be. As of now, there is no news as to what studio will release SAVAGE INNOCENT, or when we can expect to see it. Until then, I’m going to go dust off my copy of KIDS and BULLY and give them a whirl.
