Pierce Brosnan claims MAMMIA MIA! 2 is off, is it true?

I know what some of you are thinking, “Why is he talking about MAMMA MIA!” Well, I actually really liked MAMMA MIA!, and even picked it up on Blu-ray. I wasn’t the only one that really dug it either, the film was the fifth highest grossing movie of 2008 and, until AVATAR, it was the highest grossing film in Britain. With all the success the film brought in, a sequel was announced. That was the last we heard about it, until now.

According to Brosnan when asked about MAMMA MIA! 2, he said “No, I don’t think that’s happening.” A short answer that breaks the hearts of preteens and 21-year-old GATW bloggers everywhere.

Of course, the project might not actually be dead. The film could follow the young cast on their travels and just exclude Brosnan, Streep and the older cast. Maybe it’s just me, but I’d rather not hear Brosnan attempt singing again for a long time (ever).
