THE THREE MUSKETEERS will band together again

There have been many film adaptations of THE THREE MUSKETEERS in film history. Many of which have been very popular, and extremely well-received. It seems that another MUSKETEERS movie is in the works, it will be the first since the atrocity that was 2001’s THE MUSKETEER.

The film will be produced by Lionel Wigram, who recently produced SHERLOCK HOLMES. A writer has also been brought on board, Peter Straughan, who recently wrote MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS. No director has yet been chosen for the film, they will probably figure that out after the script is finished.

THE THREE MUSKETEERS is one of those literary classics where, in film adaptations if you stray too much from the source material, it doesn’t work. This project has a chance to be successful, if they nail the casting and if the team has good chemistry. After SHERLOCK HOLMES, I trust what Wigram will do with THE THREE MUSKETEERS.

  1. I think that may have been my personal bias coming into play. Cobra has been one of my favorites for a long time and even though I recognize how important the original Rocky is to the whole series, I found the movie itself to be a tad slow and boring. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good movie mind you just a personal preference BTW, Stallone only got paid 30K to do Cop Land.
