Since SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE came out, people have been going crazy over what Danny Boyle’s next project might be. Awhile back, it was confirmed to be 127 HOURS, the true story of mountaineer Aron Rolston, who amputated his own arm to free himself from a boulder that landed on him.
Since that confirmation, there’s been the lingering issue of who would play Rolston. Thanks to Production Weekly’s Twitter, we now know.
James Franco will portray Rolston in Boyle’s surefire success. Production Weekly also lets us know that filming will begin in March, and the film will be shot in Utah.
Franco is extremely talented, and with Boyle directing, I feel very confident in this one. Even the plot of the movie sounds like such a good match for Boyle. I think this could be a really big movie for Franco, and I can’t wait to see him in the role. Keep your eyes out for this one, I think it is gonna be big.

I don't get why anyone likes this guy, I guess because of his good looks and random semi-funny or die videos? He is an atrocious actor, looking back at his catalog I can't seem to find one he helped define with his.. UNHOLY ACTING TALENT!! Except for Pineapple Express, which is really the only thing he has ever done that doesn't remind me he is James Franco and that he is has an UNHOLY ACTING TALENT!!!But Danny Boyle is a bad ass, so hopefully there will be some fantastic supporting cast involved.

I read the other day that Ryan Gosling was rumored to play this part and I really wish it had been true. As much as I like James Franco, I really think Gosling is more suited for this role. But maybe Franco will surprise me?

Did you ever watch Freaks and Geeks? Did you ever watch MILK? He is so fantastic in both of those, but I see a lot of things he was great in.

Freaks and Geeks was good, but certainly not because of him. He was alright in MILK. I guess I should pull back on the hate a little and take back that he is atrocious, I will replace that with mediocre. Either way I look forward to this movie because its a fascinating story and Danny Boyle is the man.

You, sir, have obviously never seen his pitch perfect portrayl of James Dean. It gained him much critical praise as well as a Golden Globe. Not to mention the attention of Robert De Niro who cast him in CITY BY THE SEA (another great film and role for Franco)

never heard of danny boyle until last week film 4 has given a showing to his films not one of them is very inspiring mostly boring and tedious based on topics that have all been seen before poor acting with nothing original.
