Kevin Smith's Quickstop Entertainment closes

Kevin Smith

I’ve been going to the Quickstop Entertainment website in some form or fashion for a very long time. I started back in 2001 when movie site Poop Shoot.com, which was based off of the online movie news site Kevin Smith created for JAY & SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK, was launched. The site got my attention again when it transformed into Quickstop Entertainment, which was the home of Smith’s podcast “Smodcast,” was released. Smith has now given the site to its webmaster, Ken Plume, and parted ways with the project.

Smith released a letter on the site explaining the history of the site, and its future under the complete control of  Plume. Plume has already changed the name of the site to “A site called Fred“, but is still putting out the wide array of podcasts the site has to offer.

Some people might be wondering what this means for the Smodcast. Well, you can rest assured. Smodcast will now be on their own website, the much more appropriate smodcast.com. They also explain that they are getting rid of the week delay that the podcast has for iTunes users.

Currently, the official Smodcast site has a counter, counting down to two days from now. Hopefully, they will do some cool stuff with the site, other than offer the Smodcast.

  1. I'm excited that there won't be a week delay for smodcast on iTunes since that's how I get my smodcast. However, it's still sad to see quickstop entertainment go 😦
