Tom Wilkinson to join THE LONE RANGER?

Tom Wilkinson is one of cinema’s great character actors who gets major critical acclaim for his performances, and who often shows up in some of the biggest movies of a given year. However, he still doesn’t have that major mainstream prominence that other actors of his caliber have. But that won’t stop him from trying, and all of us who love his work want to thank him for that.

Wilkinson seems to have his eye on joining the cast of Disney’s upcoming LONE RANGER film, and is in early negotiations for his role. Wilkinson would be taking up the role of a railroad tycoon, which is said to be a prominent role in the film. This would pair him up with Armie Hammer as the Lone Ranger, and the once odd, yet now exciting, casting of Johnny Depp as his sidekick Tonto. Gore Verbinski considering directing THE LONE RANGER

Ever since THE LONE RANGER remake was announced, starring Johnny Depp as Tonto instead of The Lone Ranger, I’ve had a hard time finding myself excited about the film. There’s nothing really wrong with the project, but there also have not been any other ideas thrown out there that I found exciting.
