THE WORLD'S END has a complete script

Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg are one of the best combos out there, seriously. They have been working together for over a decade now through their cult series Spaced and their “Three Flavours Cornetto” trilogy, which as of now comprises of SHAUN OF THE DEAD and HOT FUZZ. The third film of the trilogy hasn’t been a secret, (THE WORLD’S END) and fans have been anxiously awaiting details about when the film might be happening.

Now, thanks to a photo from Simon Pegg, we know that the script is closer than ever to being finished and even has a completed draft. You can check out the photo after the break!

Simon Pegg trying to write new script with Edgar Wright before STAR TREK 2

Oh, Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright. They won us over big time when they blasted on to the scene with SHAUN OF THE DEAD. They then proved they could handle the follow-up, and made HOT FUZZ – a film that was different enough than their first, yet still had the same feel we came to expect after SHAUN. And we still have their long-talked about third film in the “Blood and Ice Cream” trilogy titled THE WORLD’S END to look forward to.

Pegg is letting us know they’ve got the ideas down, and is hoping to get some work in with Wright very soon. He said, “we already started the conception process, so it’s just a question of when we can get together. I’m just about to start shooting a movie here in the UK, so maybe between that and STAR TREK [sequel] we might get a chance to bang out a first draft if we’re lucky.” That could be a huge opportunity time for them to make some real progress. If they can finish the first draft, that means that it is much more likely that they will fit in actual production sooner. When time permits, Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright will pen THE WORLD'S END

Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Edgar Wright burst on the scene with a film called SHAUN OF THE DEAD, the hilarious yet serious comedy about a man and his friends trying to make it through a zombie apocalypse. Following that, they went on to make HOT FUZZ, a film that is often considered a spiritual sequel to their first film. The third film of that spiritual trilogy, THE WORLD’S END, has been talked about for a long time, but has yet come to fruition.

STAR TREK 2 set to begin filming in late 2010

Needless to say, STAR TREK was a huge hit among fans and an enormous financial success. It was very obvious after the movie so resonated with fans that a sequel would eventually come. Now we know just when we might expect it.
