PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS: THE LIGHTNING THIEF came out last year and was mildly successful, but it certainly didn’t make the kind of splash that a lot of people were expecting. Then came the lack of any news about a sequel, even though there are currently five books in the Young Adult series the first film was based on, and a seeming franchise to be made.

Now that news is finally coming out, and it looks like a sequel is happening after all.

Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski have been hired to pen a script for the sequel and are hard at work at it currently. Supposedly the main cast, including Logan Lerman as Percy, are all expected to return for the sequel.
