Robert Downey Jr. is quite an actor, who has also had plenty of ups and downs since he hit it big. More recently, he has shown incredible promise and skill as an actor, and has revived his career even bigger than it was before.

Noomi Rapace is blowing up in the states after her star turn in the Swedish THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO and its sequels began to hit our shores. It’s not every day you see a rise as quick as hers, but the actress is ready to become a household name.

At this point, very little is really known about the SHERLOCK HOLMES sequel, other than that both Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law will be returning, and that Moriarty will be the villain. Now that filming is quickly approaching, facts are starting to come out regarding the big follow-up. One of these facts is that Rachel McAdams will return, but in a much smaller capacity. Everybody loves Robert Downey Jr., and it is easy to understand why. He is a phenomenal actor, he is very funny, and he picks roles extremely well. Now that his schedule is so busy, it’s a lot harder for him to do every project he wants. This is a classic case of that, but it’s probably for the best.
Robert Downey Jr. was set to start filming for Jon Favreau’s next movie, COWBOYS & ALIENS, this summer. Downey has now pulled out of that project, as he will be starring in SHERLOCK HOLMES 2, which should start filming in June. No word yet who will replace Downey in COWBOYS. IRON MAN 2 is fast approaching, and at this point Marvel will do anything to get our attention (you’ve always had my attention, Marvel!) to remind us how awesome this movie is going to be. At this point is just a waiting game till we get a trailer.
Today is the first day since Monday that we haven’t received a viral ad, but Marvel did put out these three production stills. These pictures are nothing groundbreaking, but it seems that they are trying to reassure the fanbase that the film will still be heavily character focused and not just explosions. This is the right move, because it is definitely working. The charm of the first film is really what sold it for me. They captured Tony Stark perfectly, it made the inner Marvel fan-boy in me squeal (no comment if I actually squealed).

Yesterday, I posted about the new IRON MAN 2 viral ad campaign. Today, another one has gone online, and is strikingly familiar to yesterday’s. I’m really hoping that this is going to be a daily thing for awhile. Once again, it is a newspaper clipping that is very reminiscent of the background of the Whiplash character poster. When I talked about yesterday’s clue, I couldn’t figure out any sort of significance in the picture. Today, I noticed something interesting.

A lot of details are starting to come out about IRON MAN 2 in preparation for the film’s May 7th release date. The marketing team has been releasing a lot of posters lately; first they released one revealing War Machine, and then they released one focused on Whiplash. Now, it looks like the viral campaign for the film is in full force. It looks to me like they are trying to capitalize on Whiplash’s obsession with Stark, because the clipping above looks a lot like the backdrop of the Whiplash poster.
