Just a couple days ago, we got an awesome clip of The Black Widow fighting back, and it was really awesome. It was great to see a look at one of the characters that isn’t quite as mainstream as Cap, Thor, Hulk, or Iron Man. Marvel is continuing that idea today, with a new clip that actress Cobie Smulder (How I Met Your Mother) debuted last night on The Late Show With David Letterman.

2012 is here, finally! That means that Marvel’s biggest movie yet, THE AVENGERS, is only a hop, skip, and an excruciating but short wait away. Subsequently, the onslaught of AVENGERS media has begun, and is welcomed with green gamma-radiated arms wide open. So, in the wake of the next theatrical trailer hitting tomorrow, Mouse-eared Marvel has put out a new poster for us to feast our eyes on.

A lot of people were pretty surprised when Samuel L. Jackson signed on to play Nick Fury in nine Marvel movies. Of course we know a lot of the films he will be showing up in, but nine is a lot more than we know about. Directly from the mouth of Jackson himself, we might know about one more of these projects, one I certainly wasn’t expecting.

THE AVENGERS is easily one of the biggest comic book movie endeavors ever and one of the most anticipated movies in recent history. Fans have discussed theories as to who would be in the film endlessly, and false rumors like that of Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye have only fueled the fire.

To me, one of the biggest film shocks of 2008 was when Nick Fury showed up after the credits of IRON MAN. I was so excited after seeing that scene that I actually got a speeding ticket on my way home from the theater. That scene was the start of something much bigger for Sam Jackson and his version of Nick Fury, including no less than a nine picture deal with Marvel to reprise Nick Fury in future movies. One of the best things about the first IRON MAN movie were the references to the Marvel universe. It would even catch me off guard at times because I’m used to the movies being so disconnected. So whenever Clark Gregg’s character Agent Coulson said he was with the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division, I didn’t realize he was with S.H.I.E.L.D..
