Mickey Rourke speaks on his film about rugby player Gareth Thomas

I don’t think you are going out on a limb when you claim that Mickey Rourke is a pretty astounding actor. Since his big return in THE WRESTLER, he has continually surprised us with his performances, even in his more mainstream fare.

He seems to be open for just about any role he seems fit, as he is set to play Gareth Thomas, an openly gay rugby player that is 22 years younger than he. Pierce Brosnan replaces Mickey Rourke in ST. VINCENT

There was a time shortly after Mickey Rourke found insane critical acclaim thanks to his work in THE WRESTLER when he was attached to just about every project in existence. Since then, it has become a lot more clear which ones he will and will not actually be a part of.

THE WRESTLER threw Mickey Rourke back into the spotlight, making him one of the biggest actors in the industry. Now that he is wanted by everyone, he has the opportunity to be choosy about the roles he takes. Another new IRON MAN 2 viral ad

Yesterday, I posted about the new IRON MAN 2 viral ad campaign. Today, another one has gone online, and is strikingly familiar to yesterday’s. I’m really hoping that this is going to be a daily thing for awhile. Once again, it is a newspaper clipping that is very reminiscent of the background of the Whiplash character poster. When I talked about yesterday’s clue, I couldn’t figure out any sort of significance in the picture. Today, I noticed something interesting.

New IRON MAN 2 viral is in print

IRON MAN 2 cut

A lot of details are starting to come out about IRON MAN 2 in preparation for the film’s May 7th release date. The marketing team has been releasing a lot of posters lately; first they released one revealing War Machine, and then they released one focused on Whiplash. Now, it looks like the viral campaign for the film is in full force. It looks to me like they are trying to capitalize on Whiplash’s obsession with Stark, because the clipping above looks a lot like the backdrop of the Whiplash poster.
