Stan “The Man” Lee is easily one of the most creative minds in comics. In fact, most of the most popular Marvel heroes were created by Lee. In 2005 he helped form POW! Entertainment to make an array of new media properties. Along with Marvel, Disney acquired POW! on Thursday. It seems like Disney wants to be the go to source for superheroes. A while back we reported that Disney had plans to buy Marvel in a very expensive, 4 billion dollar purchase. Disney from the get-go claimed that they were not going to make any changes to Marvel because “If it ain’t broke…”. The deal that started much controversy to comic fans everywhere is set to be official by the end of the day.

Aside from Hawkeye and Spider-Man, Captain America is one of my favorite Marvel heroes. You can’t even imagine my excitement when FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA was announced. I immediately had a rush of images and ideas about what the film would be like.

IRON MAN 2 is fast approaching, and at this point Marvel will do anything to get our attention (you’ve always had my attention, Marvel!) to remind us how awesome this movie is going to be. At this point is just a waiting game till we get a trailer.
Today is the first day since Monday that we haven’t received a viral ad, but Marvel did put out these three production stills. These pictures are nothing groundbreaking, but it seems that they are trying to reassure the fanbase that the film will still be heavily character focused and not just explosions. This is the right move, because it is definitely working. The charm of the first film is really what sold it for me. They captured Tony Stark perfectly, it made the inner Marvel fan-boy in me squeal (no comment if I actually squealed).

Yesterday, I posted about the new IRON MAN 2 viral ad campaign. Today, another one has gone online, and is strikingly familiar to yesterday’s. I’m really hoping that this is going to be a daily thing for awhile. Once again, it is a newspaper clipping that is very reminiscent of the background of the Whiplash character poster. When I talked about yesterday’s clue, I couldn’t figure out any sort of significance in the picture. Today, I noticed something interesting.

A lot of details are starting to come out about IRON MAN 2 in preparation for the film’s May 7th release date. The marketing team has been releasing a lot of posters lately; first they released one revealing War Machine, and then they released one focused on Whiplash. Now, it looks like the viral campaign for the film is in full force. It looks to me like they are trying to capitalize on Whiplash’s obsession with Stark, because the clipping above looks a lot like the backdrop of the Whiplash poster.
