Edgar Wright's ANT-MAN is still on

Ant Man Edgar Wright

Ever since rumblings first started surfacing of an Edgar Wright adaptation of ANT-MAN, my mind has been reeling with the possibilities. Not only does ANT-MAN seem like a really great fit for Wright, but a more comedic take on the character is highly intriguing due to some of the darker material related to character’s alter ego, Henry Pym.

Though it’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the project, good ol’ Edgar was nice enough to give us a little update. Continue reading “Edgar Wright's ANT-MAN is still on”

Alice Eve is in talks to play Emma Frost in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS?

It seems like every-time we report on the casting for X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, it becomes an even more highly anticipated film for me (James McAvoy as Professor X). This is coming from a comic fan that for some reason has never really gotten into the X-Men, aside from the first two films. Now with the news that Alice Eve will most likely be joining the cast as Emma Frost, I’m more excited about this film than ever. Joe Quesada gets a promotion; Marvel fans rejoice

This is why Marvel has been finding so much recent success, because it seems like every big move they make is so damn smart. Joe Quesada has been instrumental in Marvel’s successes since he became the Editor-in-Chief a decade ago. Many of their more daring and inventive story arcs are because he took a chance, and allowed stuff that others probably wouldn’t.

Well, he just got a promotion to Chief Creative Officer at Marvel, which will make his pull even stronger in Marvel’s other endeavors that aren’t just the funny books. Continue reading “Joe Quesada gets a promotion; Marvel fans rejoice”

GATW Podcast Ep. 10: The Great Toon Swoon

The SHREK series is one that has met much financial and critical success since the first film was released back in 2001. The series has already grossed over a billion dollars just from the first three films, and finally, DreamWorks has decided to wrap up the series with SHREK FOREVER AFTER. The film’s release inspired us to talk about our favorite animated films of all time. Since Hollywood’s animation has moved more in favor of CG, we decided to include all forms of animation in our lists. And boy, our tastes in animated films are very eclectic!

Will there be a Nick Fury S.H.I.E.L.D. movie after THE AVENGERS?

A lot of people were pretty surprised when Samuel L. Jackson signed on to play Nick Fury in nine Marvel movies. Of course we know a lot of the films he will be showing up in, but nine is a lot more than we know about. Directly from the mouth of Jackson himself, we might know about one more of these projects, one I certainly wasn’t expecting.

You can check out what Sam had to say after the break! Continue reading “Will there be a Nick Fury S.H.I.E.L.D. movie after THE AVENGERS?”

Hugo Weaving will play Red Skull in CAPTAIN AMERICA after all

IRON MAN 2 is practically here, and we figured there would be no better way to reign in one of the biggest summer blockbusters than to dedicate an entire episode to Marvel. The future of Marvel is so bright these days (and dare we say ambitiously so) that it’s gonna need shades.
