Joe Johnston speaks on how CAPTAIN AMERICA fits into Marvel continuity

THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA

Somebody at Marvel Studios must have put some talk-lax in the water cooler, because it seems no one can keep their mouths shut. Thank you rouge laxer, whoever you are! Without you, Joss Whedon never would have talked about THE AVENGERS not once, but twice. There is no way Stanley Tucci would have let us know a bit about working on the set of CAPTAIN AMERICA.

This time we have CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER director Joe Johnston talking about how the film fits into the continuity Marvel studios has created. Check out what he had to say after the break. Continue reading “Joe Johnston speaks on how CAPTAIN AMERICA fits into Marvel continuity”

Marvel RUNAWAYS to begin filming March of next year

As disappointing that it is that Joss Whedon won’t be involved in Marvel’s film adaptation of THE RUNWAYS, considering his run on the comic might be the best it’s ever been. Regardless, it is still very exciting to see that the film is coming to fruition, as it is not one of Marvel’s tent pole books. Things must be running smoothly behind the curtains, cause we now have a start date for filming. Continue reading “Marvel RUNAWAYS to begin filming March of next year”

THE AVENGERS now has a start date

Avengers

THE AVENGERS is probably the biggest film event of the year (well, of 2012). It truly is the definition of event cinema, and is the culmination of a lot of hard work by a lot of filmmakers. It’s almost hard to believe that it is really happening, especially to a Marvel fanatic like myself.

Now it feels even more real, as the film now has a start date. Continue reading “THE AVENGERS now has a start date”

Robert Rodriguez directing DEADPOOL is pretty likely?

Just over a month ago, it was rumored that Robert Rodriguez was offered the director’s chair for Marvel’s upcoming DEADPOOL film. Very little real information was known before, other than that he had been given the script for review. Now the word is that the talks have gotten very serious, and the final deal is being worked out.

DEADPOOL would most likely be Robert Rodriguez’s next film after his big third sequel in the SPY KIDS franchise. This would also work out well for Ryan Reynolds’ schedule, as he would be wrapping up all of his upcoming projects (including press for GREEN LANTERN). With a schedule this perfect, chances seem to be good. Continue reading “Robert Rodriguez directing DEADPOOL is pretty likely?”

Thor's helmet is finally revealed

THOR

Although sometimes the costumes from THOR might seem a little… silly, there are moments like this one that get me back on the THOR train. One of my biggest fears about the costume was how the helmet would look, and now we finally are getting our first look at the final product.

Check out the helmet after the break! Continue reading “Thor's helmet is finally revealed”

Nicolas Cage is definitely in the GHOST RIDER sequel

Last month, we caught wind that Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, who are best known for directing the CRANK films, were most likely on board to direct the next GHOST RIDER flick. We also had a pretty good idea that Nicolas Cage would be reprising his role as Johnny Blaze in the film, and now we can definitely confirm that both bits of news are completely true. Continue reading “Nicolas Cage is definitely in the GHOST RIDER sequel”
