Stanley Tucci talks CAPTAIN AMERICA

Stanley Tucci is an actor who is usually known for bringing incredible performances to any film he is a part of. Most recently, he was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance in THE LOVELY BONES. We’ve known for a while that he was joining CAPTAIN AMERICA, but now we have some more insight to the role thanks to Mr. Tucci himself.

Chris Evans in fan-made CAPTAIN AMERICA posters

The announcement of Chris Evans as CAPTAIN AMERICA is one that was met with very little contention, and many fans were very pleased with the choice. Of course, everyone still has their worries. One of the biggest fears about the CAP movie is that they will change the costume up too much. The film’s director Joe Johnston responded to these claims, but the fear still remains. Reports that THOR’s costume would be spot on to the comic do aid many doubts.

Ever since FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA was announced, fans (including myself) have been extremely worried about what sort of costume he would have. I have explained the importance of Cap’s costume, and how detrimental it would be to change it too much. The LA Times recently spoke to director Joe Johnston about his upcoming film THE WOLFMAN, and got him to reveal quite a bit about FIRST AVENGER, including costume details.

FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA is one of the most exciting film projects that I’ve ever heard of. I’m so excited to see what the film’s director, Joe Johnston, does with the film version of one of my favorite superheroes. Unfortunately, we haven’t heard a single bit of casting aside from rumors. I’m so pumped about the FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA movie that anytime a little bit of info comes out, I freak out with excitement. Today a little tidbit came out that got me even more excited than normal, because it sets up the film exactly how I believe it should be.

CAPTAIN AMERICA to begin filming in June

CAPTAIN AMERICA

Aside from Hawkeye and Spider-Man, Captain America is one of my favorite Marvel heroes. You can’t even imagine my excitement when FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA was announced. I immediately had a rush of images and ideas about what the film would be like.
