Last year we got the news that David Cronenberg would be adapting Don DeLillo’s novel Cosmopolis to film. Since the initial announcement, we haven’t heard anything else about the project. David Cronenberg’s EASTERN PROMISES was easily and by far one of the best films of 2007. Cronenberg and the film’s star Viggo Mortenson brought the pages of the script to life in such a realistic, heartbreaking, and beautiful way. After INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS came out, everybody was talking about Christoph Waltz. It was almost unanimously agreed that he was the stand-out performance in a movie full of stand-out performances. It’s also been said that he is a shoo-in for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar.
