I know we don’t really talk about video games all that often on this site, but today I bring you some news that fits into both movie and game territory. The game in question is based off of the upcoming STAR TREK film sequel, and stars new Kirk and Spock, with Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto’s likenesses. The game will be a bridge between the first film and it’s sequel.

Chris Pine might star in Jeff Nichols' MUD

After he took up the mantle of Captain Kirk from William Shatner, Chris Pine quickly rocketed to the top of the emerging male lead actors list. He brought a new life to the character that Shatner had previously made famous, while making it is own and not being restrained by Shatner’s legacy. Then he snagged the role of the famous Jack Ryan character from Tom Clancy’s hit books, and now he will lead both franchises.

Now there just might be another film coming down the pipeline for Pine, Jeff Nichols’ MUD. Pine would star in the film as Mud, a fugitive who gets help from two boys in an attempt to escape. Blu-ray Review: SMOKIN' ACES

Bluray Rating: 8/10

Since this is an older film and most people probably already have their opinions on it, I will not be reviewing the actual film itself and instead review the Blu-ray set as a whole.

I went crazy for SMOKIN’ ACES when it first came out. I thought it was fun, insanely clever, and really bad-ass. The avant-garde visual style that they used was incredible and put Joe Carnahan on my directors to watch list. I liked it so much, in fact, that I bought the HD-DVD version (R.I.P.) when it came out. STAR TREK 2 set to begin filming in late 2010

Needless to say, STAR TREK was a huge hit among fans and an enormous financial success. It was very obvious after the movie so resonated with fans that a sequel would eventually come. Now we know just when we might expect it.
