Kevin Connolly wants to make a Kimbo Slice biopic

Kimbo Slice was once a YouTube star, rising to fame after videos of his brutal street fights were posted to the popular video hosting site. Shortly after his rise to Internet notoriety, he made the transition over into professional MMA, a career that ended more quickly than everyone expected.

Kevin Connolly, most famous for playing Eric Murphy on HBO’s Entourage, is looking to turn Kimbo’s story into a film which he would direct.  He told The Wrap, “I’m trying to get the Kimbo Slice story made. I have his life rights, we have a script that’s great. It’s out and about, and the powers that be are trying to put the money together…Kimbo Slice is known as one of the first YouTube celebrities. He was the first person I ever sat in front of a computer and typed somebody’s name into YouTube. His fights ended up on the Internet, his backyard fights, and he all of the sudden…became this celebrity.” Continue reading “Kevin Connolly wants to make a Kimbo Slice biopic”

George Clooney in talks to star in DeLorean biopic?

Biopics are a large part of the Hollywood film scene, and are typically some of the most remembered films come Oscar season. That makes it not very surprising that the biopic of John DeLorean, creator of the DMC-12 (most well-known for being the time machine in the BACK TO THE FUTURE trilogy), is looking to get a big name actor involved. It seems like they’ve got their pick made with George Clooney, who is reportedly in talks for the role, but will it work out?

The story of John DeLorean is full of ups and downs, as when his company filed for bankruptcy and he turned to a life of crime and began drug trafficking. This led to him being arrested in 1982. The film is said to chronicle the creation of the DMC-12, and is presumed to show his arrest also. Continue reading “George Clooney in talks to star in DeLorean biopic?”

Liam Neeson officially off Spielberg's Lincoln biopic

I’ve always imagined people putting their careers on hold for the opportunity to work with Steven Spielberg, and many actors do just that – for a while. Apparently, some of the biggest and best actors even lose that interest after a time, and Liam Neeson is proof of that.

After spending a very long time attached to star in Steven Spielberg’s biopic of Abraham Lincoln, he has officially pulled out of the project. Check out what Liam Neeson himself had to say about the role after the break!

Sean Penn to ride the waves once again

Everyone has their favorite Spicoli moment. Whether it is something as big as a line or even as small as a puzzled gesture, his character is easily one of the most memorable things about FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH. Although it doesn’t seem like he’ll be donning the blonde Spicoli hair again anytime soon, he does have plans to play another heroic surfer in one of his next projects. Einstein biopic gets its scribe

I have to be completely honest, I’m not all too familiar with the life of Albert Einstein, but I have always been curious. This is exactly why I think an Einstein biopic makes complete sense, and something tells me that many others share this sentiment. That’s why I’m pleased to say that a writer has been picked up for the project, and that writer is Stephen Schiff. Continue reading “Einstein biopic gets its scribe”

Ozzy Osbourne to get the biopic treatment

Ozzy Osbourne

Before Ozzy became the bumbling family man that we all know and love, he was a madman. His life was one gigantic, crazy, heavy metal-filled party. This has certainly taken it’s toll on our Prince of Darkness, as everyone saw in MTV’s The Osbournes. Now according to his wife Sharon, Ozzy’s life will be getting the biopic treatment. Rachel Weisz to be Darren Aronofsky's Jackie Kennedy?

THE FOUNTAIN is a film known for being the topic of much debate by cinema fans. The lovers of the film and the not-so lovers will argue the merits of the film endlessly (trust me, I’ve been there). Although the arguments exist, there is very little contention about the performances in the film, especially that of Rachel Weisz. Now it looks like THE FOUNTAIN writer/director Darren Aronofsky want’s to team back up with Weisz, and have her play one of the most iconic First Lady’s ever, Jackie Kennedy.
