Andy Serkis joins RISE OF THE APES

Andy Serkis is a pretty interesting actor, as he is most well known for playing some of the most iconic CGI characters of the past decade. Although my favorite performance of his might be as KING KONG, most are more familiar with his performance as Gollum in LORD OF THE RINGS. He may not have looked like himself on screen, but he provided the movements and the voice. Now he’s looking to do another CGI role, but as a much smaller monkey in RISE OF THE APES. Andy Serkis will direct his very first feature

Andy Serkis has a very interesting acting career, and has proved himself to be very diverse at his craft. Not only is he really talented, but he also is a well established motion-capture actor too. Two of his most well known motion capture roles were that of Gollum in the LORD OF THE RINGS franchise (he also provided the voice), and KING KONG in Peter Jackson’s remake.
