LEATHERFACE 3D gets a director

2003’s THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE remake was one of the films that jumpstarted the modern trend of horror remakes. It ended up being an insanely scary movie, and even led to a 2006 prequel. The idea of a third film to join the new era of Leatherface has been around since 2009, with 3D being one of its major selling points. Then the film seemingly disappeared, until now.

Director John Luessenhop is now in talks to join the project. The helmer most recently directed TAKERS. Continue reading “LEATHERFACE 3D gets a director”

3D without glasses a futuristic possibility?

3D

Whenever you try to think of an authority on 3D technology, it isn’t much of a jump to end up on James Cameron. Despite your feelings about AVATAR, it was a groundbreaking film with revolutionary 3D. The next logical step will certainly have to be 3D without the glasses, something Cameron believes will be obtained, but not till we wait a little bit. Years even.

Cameron feels that 3D without glasses is still about eight to ten years away from happening, a time frame that seems somewhat justifiable. Look how long it took us to achieve the kind of 3D we have now accomplished. It took decades. The kind of 3D we’ve come to expect is nothing like the 3D that we remember from the eighties. New TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE gets new writers

The news of another new TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE film came out a while back, when Twisted Pictures (the sickos behind the SAW franchise) picked up the rights to the series. It wasn’t too long before Twisted Pictures started setting up their most advanced trap yet, a 3D TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE film. This extremely advanced engineering marvel of death is still chugging along, but now with new writers.

Adam Marcus and Debra Sullivan are working on their version of the script, which is said to take place 35 years after the original film. In fact, they are wanting it to pick up immediately after the end of the original film, then flash forward into present day. The film isn’t supposed to have anything to do with the remakes of a couple years ago, thankfully. Continue reading “New TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE gets new writers”

Riley Keough joins MAD MAX: FURY ROAD

We’ve known about the return of MAD MAX for a good while now, although they’ve done a pretty good job at keeping any significant details under wraps. We know that Tom Hardy will be taking over the titular role of Max, and that the film will be shot in 3D.

Now we’ve received word that Riley Keough, granddaughter of Elvis Presley, has joined the film. Continue reading “Riley Keough joins MAD MAX: FURY ROAD”

Control the elements with two new posters for THE LAST AIRBENDER

The onslaught of promotion behind THE LAST AIRBENDER is pretty insane, as it looks as if the marketing team behind the film are doing everything in their power to tease us into oblivion. This is good for them, because it is working beautifully. Further proof of this are these two brand new character posters that show off what we want to see most, element-bending.

You can check out both of the new bend-tastic character posters after the break! Continue reading “Control the elements with two new posters for THE LAST AIRBENDER”

Doug Liman to helm THE THREE MUSKETEERS

A couple of months back, I reported on a new version of THE THREE MUSKETEERS being produced, and that it was being written by Peter Straughan (THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS). Aside from the fact that it was being made and that Straughan was penning it, we knew nothing else about the project. But according to The Hollywood Reporter‘s Heat Vision blog, it looks like Doug Liman might be the man to realize the book to screen. Continue reading “Doug Liman to helm THE THREE MUSKETEERS”

Upcoming ALIEN prequel will be in 3D

It’s been quite awhile since we first heard rumblings about an ALIEN prequel film. Shortly afterward, it was discovered that Ridley Scott, director of the original ALIEN, would be directing the film. Suddenly, all worry and fears were replaced with extreme excitement. It was a truly unexpected move, but such a great idea.

Today we have another expected move, as it’s been revealed that this prequel will be in 3D, just like every other movie these days. Check out what Art Director Roger Christian had to say about the project after the jump! Continue reading “Upcoming ALIEN prequel will be in 3D”

Nick Park's next claymation film to be 3D?

If you’re a big fan of the WALLACE & GROMIT series, you most likely know who Nick Park is. In a lot of ways, he led the way with modern claymation. Almost every one of his efforts have been extremely successful, and he has won multiple Oscars for his work. On top of that, he is nominated for an Oscar this Sunday with his most recent WALLACE & GROMIT short. Needless to say, people really like his work.

But should we expect to see his next feature take it to the third dimension? This news comes directly from Park himself. Check out what he had to say after the jump! Continue reading “Nick Park's next claymation film to be 3D?”

James Cameron talks AVATAR's DVD/Blu-ray releases and possible extended cut

It really doesn’t surprise me at all that AVATAR on DVD and Blu-ray would have multiple releases, but sadly it sounds like they are going actively work towards some major double-dipping. In an interview with MTV, James Cameron spoke about the upcoming releases and what to expect.

Check out what he had to say after the jump! Continue reading “James Cameron talks AVATAR's DVD/Blu-ray releases and possible extended cut”

GREMLINS to terrorize your town in 3D?

There has been talk of a GREMLINS 3 for a very long time now, much to the chagrin of fans. Many fans have claimed that they would only be interested in the film if Joe Dante (director of the first two GREMLINS films) returned, and feelings were otherwise extremely mixed.

Now the rumor is that GREMLINS will be back, and taking the jump into the 3rd dimension. Continue reading “GREMLINS to terrorize your town in 3D?”
