Plot details for THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D emerge

We’ve been hearing updates on THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D for a while now, yet we have been almost wholly in the dark about what the plot would actually be. We knew that the film was likely to take place partially in modern day, but it seems that they have come to some decisions about the plot.

Readers beware, the content below could be considered spoilery, although it is mainly just information about the plot. I can say however, they seem to be going in a very different direction for this one. Continue reading “Plot details for THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D emerge”

Mia Maestro joins Oliver Stone's SAVAGES

Mia Maestro is about to make a splash in the upcoming film of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN as the character Carmen, one of the many vampires we are sure to see in the film. She isn’t looking to go anywhere after the film comes out, though, and is already starting to set up other roles in some varied films.

You can now expect to see her in the upcoming Oliver Stone film, SAVAGES.

The film has a pretty impressive ensemble cast lined up already, with Emile Hirsch (INTO THE WILD) and Aaron Johnson (KICK-ASS) as two marijuana kingpins living in Laguna Beach. When their friend, played by Blake Lively (GREEN LANTERN), is kidnapped, they are blackmailed into helping out the Baja Cartel. Other cast members include Benicio Del Toro, Uma Thurman, and John Travolta. Maestro will play Del Toro’s wife in the film, a woman who is seemingly a soccer mom, yet has a dark gang-riddled past. Guillermo del Toro still dedicated to AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS

Guillermo del Toro is one of those filmmakers who us cinephiles can’t help but follow in droves. His desire to push the boundaries of filmmaking is nothing but awe-inspiring. It was that special something that Peter Jackson recognized, leading to del Toro’s involvement in THE HOBBIT, before he moved on to greener pastures.

A while back, we found out that del Toro was going to be taking on PACIFIC RIM instead of his long-time passion project, AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS. But that doesn’t mean he has given up on the project just yet.

For those who don’t know, AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS is based off a classic H.P. Lovecraft story. Del Toro is a serious Lovecraft fan, which is one of the things that made him such a great match for the HELLBOY franchise, which is also inspired by Lovecraft’s work. To del Toro, this is the project he has always wanted to do. Continue reading “Guillermo del Toro still dedicated to AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS”

Rosario Dawson joins FIRE WITH FIRE

Rosario Dawson has really made herself quite a name as an actress. From being cast (literally) on her doorstep by Harmony Korine and Larry Clark for their film KIDS, to her work with Quentin Tarantino in DEATHPROOF, she is now a solid cinematic bet.

Dawson has now booked one of her next roles in FIRE WITH FIRE, where she will play opposite Bruce Willis and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, with Josh Duhamel taking up the lead role.

The film follows a firefighter who enters into the witness protection program to protect himself from a thug who he is set to testify against in court. When the thug begins threatening his love interest, he must take matters into his own hands. While Duhamel will be playing the firefighter, it seems Dawson will be playing the love interest. BLAIR WITCH director to show us that Bigfoot EXISTS

Bigfoot has been a part of American folklore for a very long time, and has a very cloudy mystique and legend behind his existence. He has even had a steady flow of appearances in cinema, including the lead role in the unforgettable 1987 classic HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS. Although that film is a comedy, that doesn’t mean Bigfoot can’t be scary again.

Eduardo Sanchez, director of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, is looking to do just that in an upcoming film titled EXISTS. Continue reading “BLAIR WITCH director to show us that Bigfoot EXISTS”

BULLET RUN to be directed by Rob Cohen

It was really surprising that Universal was able to revive THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS franchise from the dead and turn it into an important part of Summer cinema. Now that they have done what was seemingly impossible, they are looking to kick off a new franchise in a similar vein. What better way to do that than to bring back the director of the original film that inspired it all!

THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS director Rob Cohen has been brought on to direct a film called BULLET RUN.

Here’s the synopsis of the film according to Deadline:

“The head of an elite private protection team and his former CIA agent wife infiltrate the closed borders of Iran to abduct a man who killed their daughter. The extraction goes awry and they forced to rely on their world-class driving skills and a fleet of high-performance street cars to travel 200 miles through a hail of bullets to keep alive the man they really want dead.” Continue reading “BULLET RUN to be directed by Rob Cohen”

Tom Wilkinson to join THE LONE RANGER?

Tom Wilkinson is one of cinema’s great character actors who gets major critical acclaim for his performances, and who often shows up in some of the biggest movies of a given year. However, he still doesn’t have that major mainstream prominence that other actors of his caliber have. But that won’t stop him from trying, and all of us who love his work want to thank him for that.

Wilkinson seems to have his eye on joining the cast of Disney’s upcoming LONE RANGER film, and is in early negotiations for his role. Wilkinson would be taking up the role of a railroad tycoon, which is said to be a prominent role in the film. This would pair him up with Armie Hammer as the Lone Ranger, and the once odd, yet now exciting, casting of Johnny Depp as his sidekick Tonto. PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN director Gore Verbinski will be taking up the director’s chair. Continue reading “Tom Wilkinson to join THE LONE RANGER?”

UPDATED: Emma Stone to join PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES?

Emma Stone

UPDATE: Deadline now reports that Stone has passed on the role.

Emma Stone is one of the biggest young actresses out there these days, whose popularity is only rivaled by her great talent. She has the tendency to raise a film up, and make it better than it really has any right being. Now she will be playing Gwen Stacey in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, casting could not have been any more perfect. I mean, haven’t you seen the photos?

Things don’t seem to be slowing down for her either, as it seems like she could be taking up the lead role in PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES.

The film has looked at quite a few actresses for the part already, such as Mia Wasikowska and Anne Hathaway, but it seems they have found Stone to be more fitting. Fitting enough to where they have decided to officially offer her the role. If she accepts, then this film will further her zombie cred that she started gaining with 2009’s ZOMBIELAND.
