Neil LaBute's SOME GIRLS with Adam Brody just got some more girls

Let me just start by saying that Adam Brody is my homeboy. No, I don’t mean that literally, I mean it as in I really enjoy just about everything he is in. Sure, a big part of it is due to my sad obsession with The OC, but it mostly comes from the fact that he has been great in everything he’s been in since (not that all of the films have been great).

His upcoming leading role in Neil LaBute’s SOME GIRLS is starting to build up a pretty impressive cast, and now we’ve got quite a few more ladies to star beside him. Continue reading “Neil LaBute's SOME GIRLS with Adam Brody just got some more girls”

Scott Rosenberg hired to do work on Michael Bay's PAIN & GAIN

TRANSFORMERS 3

Michael Bay is known for the massive scope of his projects, which recently has been the TRANSFORMERS franchise, some of the most ‘splodey fun times in all of cinema. That is what makes his next project, PAIN & GAIN so appealing. The film is supposed to be much smaller, with a fraction of the budget of the TRANSFORMERS films.

Now, screenwriter Scott Rosenberg has been brought on to do some work on the shooting script for the film.

Jason Segel definitely out of THE MUPPETS sequel

Both a star of the big screen and the small screen, Jason Segel has been a very busy man for the past several years. All his life he has been a big Muppet fan, and due to his puppet Dracula musical scene from the 2008 film FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL (which was also written by Segel), he got the opportunity to write The Muppets big return.

Last week, I wrote up on how Jason Segel wasn’t going to be involved with the writing process of THE MUPPETS sequel, but now we are getting word that he will not star in the film either.

Director Walter Hill out of BULLET TO THE HEAD; Sylvester Stallone to re-cut the film himself

Good ol’ Sly Stallone has been back in a big way the past couple years. ROCKY BALBOA came out, then RAMBO, which he followed up with THE EXPENDABLES, turning him back into a staple of action cinema. His most recent film, BULLET TO THE HEAD, was set to be released this April but had been changed to a TBA release date.

Details are few for now, but we do know that Stallone plans to recut the entire film himself. Continue reading “Director Walter Hill out of BULLET TO THE HEAD; Sylvester Stallone to re-cut the film himself”

Check out these photos of Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill in THE AVENGERS

Although we’ve been getting a lot from THE AVENGERS lately, there have been a few things that they had avoided giving us much of. For the longest time, it was The Hulk, which left us all curious as to what shape this iteration would take. Another character they had left in the dark was Cobie Smulders, who plays Robin on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother as Nick Fury’s right hand woman, Maria Hill. We got a decent glimpse of her in the most recent trailer.

Now they’ve released  a couple new pictures of her character, including the one above. You can check out the other picture below! Continue reading “Check out these photos of Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill in THE AVENGERS”

Two new MEN IN BLACK III posters "make this look good"

Here come the MEN IN BLACK, galaxy defended … or so we can only hope. After a ten year hiatus, Agent J and Agent K are back again, and this time in three dimensions. This time, our heroes go on a time bending adventure, involving the grumpy K we all know and love, and his younger counterpart, which is played by Josh Brolin. So far, the film seems to be shaping up pretty well, and anticipation is high.

Today we get two new posters for the film to feast our eyes on, at least until they wipe our memory of it. Continue reading “Two new MEN IN BLACK III posters "make this look good"”

New production diary for THE HOBBIT shows off New Zealand and more

I’m not sure I’ve ever wanted to move as badly as I do now, all thanks to the new HOBBIT video production diary. This time, the focus is all put on New Zealand, the place that made LORD OF THE RINGS possible, and is now providing the same service to the prequel. Not only is it the homeland of the filmmaker behind the series, Peter Jackson, it’s lush and beautiful landscape makes for a surprisingly convincing Middle Earth. Sequel to THE MUPPETS moves forward without Jason Segel as screenwriter

The Muppets are back in a big way. Our felt covered friends were greeted with immense critical acclaim for their film THE MUPPETS, which went on to gross more than $150 million worldwide. With that kind of dough, I bet Kermit sings “Bein’ Green” with a slightly different connotation now.

Hot off the heels of their big Oscar win for best original song, The Muppets are celebrating by moving forward with a sequel to their big self-titled return to the silver screen without Jason Segel, the co-writer of the original. Bill Murray ends any chance of GHOSTBUSTERS 3

GHOSTBUSTERS 3 has been a long gestating project out in the City of Angels. One week, we’ll hear that the project is definitely happening with all the cast involved, only to be followed up a week or so later with a conflicting report. Even Forrest Gump would get worn out from this ping pong match of emotions. But GHOSTBUSTERS is a series that is really important to a lot of people, including myself, and it’s almost impossible to ignore stories like these.

So this weeks big GHOSTBUSTERS news is all about why the film is not happening. Hit the break for more! Continue reading “Bill Murray ends any chance of GHOSTBUSTERS 3”
