AMAZING SPIDER-MAN to have hints toward future villains

Marc Webb’s AMAZING SPIDER-MAN is just around the corner at this point, and anticipation is at an all-time high. When the film was first announced, everyone was a little peeved about there being a reboot of the franchise so soon after the original came out. The original film was released only ten years ago, and spawned two sequels. Once the first full trailer came out, everyone shut their mouths and got pumped.

As we can only assume, this new film will be the start of a new franchise if the film proves worthy of a sequel. On that note, we have word directly from Marc Webb that this first film hints at future villains in the series.

Shellshocked: Are our favorite turtles going to be the Teenage Mutant Ninja Alien Turtles?

Michael Bay and Platinum dunes are hard at work turning our favorite turtle heroes into the movie franchise they deserve to be once again. If there was anyone to do it well, I could definitely see it being Bay and company, as they have proven that they know how to do something creative with franchises that could seemingly not work out.

But now we are getting word from Mr. Bay himself, that our favorite sewer-dwelling New Yorkers, might not be from the city after all. Continue reading “Shellshocked: Are our favorite turtles going to be the Teenage Mutant Ninja Alien Turtles?”

The CW's "Arrow" has a pretty cool look

Full disclosure: I was a huge Smallville fan, owning all the seasons on DVD, and anxiously anticipating new episodes every week. That lasted until midway through season 8, where college and life got the best of me and I had to give up. I always planned on going back, and lately have been working on it. The show has since ended, but CW doesn’t want to give up on the DC train just yet.

Now they have a new show coming out about The Green Arrow, who was a very prominent figure throughout the course of Smallville’s latter half. The show is titled Arrow, and now we also have an image (above) of what the hero will look like. Continue reading “The CW's "Arrow" has a pretty cool look”

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES re-imagining gets release date

Most kids, upon being asked what they want to do when they grow up, they’ll respond Firefighter, or Astronaut. The first career that I yearned for was to be a Ninja Turtle. Aside from the genetic issue, it was a fool proof plan. I was completely obsessed with the show.

A re-imagining has been in the works for a while, but now it’s more real than ever. Paramount has given the new film a release date.

New poster for TED is quite fluffy

Seth MacFarlane is on top of the world. He is Fox’s pride and joy, and has several shows on the network. Family Guy especially is hugely popular, and is a property they aren’t ready to get rid of (again). He is a very creative mind, and it comes as no surprise that he would ultimately direct a feature. That moment is upon us. He brings us a movie called TED, which follows a man and his living Teddy Bear.

I’ve been pretty excited for TED for a while now, and especially curious to see what it was like. That’s why this poster is so great. You can see the rest after the break!

WB making a movie based off "Mandrake The Magician"

I love magic. In fact, I used to practice a little bit in my free-time. However, I was never very good, despite my better efforts. My love for magic gets me really excited, as WB is producing a film based off a comic called Mandrake the Magician.

The comic was created and takes place in the 1930’s, but WB is looking to give the film the SHERLOCK HOLMES treatment. Hit the break for more! Continue reading “WB making a movie based off "Mandrake The Magician"”

New 007 SKYFALL gets some interesting set photos

Production of the new James Bond movie got off to a very rocky start. Being conceived during MGM’s financial troubles, the company couldn’t even get the project off the ground, even though it was a guaranteed financial success. This problem led to many of us fearing that Sam Mendes would leave the project, but ultimately the film got back on track with Mendes at the helm.

The plot of the film and its characters are still a big mystery though. But now, thanks to some set photos we get a look at Javier Bardem as the main villain. Continue reading “New 007 SKYFALL gets some interesting set photos”

THE AVENGERS to have 135 minute runtime

Avengers

THE AVENGERS is right around the corner, and excitement is at an all-time high. This is actually proven, as the film has already broken a record. This is going to be a big movie, definitely the biggest of Marvel’s movies, but will it be the longest?

We now have word from the director Joss Whedon himself that the runtime will be 135 minutes, making it officially the longest marvel film yet. Continue reading “THE AVENGERS to have 135 minute runtime”

Futuristic ZORRO REBORN looking at Ricardo de Montreuil to direct

I know I’m pretty much the only person excited for this film, largely due to my ridiculous and unfounded optimism toward pretty much everything, but I think a futuristic Zorro film could actually be really great. Zorro hasn’t been cool in ages, and although MASK OF ZORRO had a lot to enjoy, it’s sequel LEGEND OF ZORRO didn’t strike the iron quite so hot. But MASK OF ZORRO was almost fourteen years ago at this point. We need something new.

This is where ZORRO REBORN comes in. Gael Garcia Bernal is likely to be the lead, and has a screen test set up to decide if he will be the star. The screen test is set to be directed by Peruvian director Ricardo de Montreuil, which means they are likely looking at him to direct the film. Dominic Cooper is out of MOTOR CITY and Jake Gyllenhaal takes the drivers seat

Jake Gyllenhaal to star in END OF WATCH

MOTOR CITY sounds like a pretty interesting project. Despite having a somewhat standard plot, a framed man goes after the guy who framed him, apparently the film features very little dialogue. Some movies use silence to really drive them, which often turn into very powerful, memorable moments. It sounds like that is what MOTOR CITY is striving for.

Originally, Dominic Cooper was set to play the lead role, but he has just been replaced with Jake Gyllenhaal. Continue reading “Dominic Cooper is out of MOTOR CITY and Jake Gyllenhaal takes the drivers seat”
