Colin Farrell and Marion Cotillard join Cronenberg's COSMOPOLIS

Last year we got the news that David Cronenberg would be adapting Don DeLillo’s novel Cosmopolis to film. Since the initial announcement, we haven’t heard anything else about the project. We’re now finally hearing something new about it, like who will be filling some of the roles. Continue reading “Colin Farrell and Marion Cotillard join Cronenberg's COSMOPOLIS”

GATW Podcast Ep. 8: Instant Gratification

There’s a little service that all of us GATW Podcasters use constantly; and that service is Netflix’s Watch Instantly option. After realizing we mention it in just about every episode, we decided it was due time to dedicate an episode to it. We really liked the idea a lot, and thought it would be cool to check up on the service every six months or so since its line-up is always changing. This will mark our first, and definitely not our last Netflix episode!

You can check out the episode and its synopsis after the break! Continue reading “GATW Podcast Ep. 8: Instant Gratification”

There might be a PAC-MAN movie? Really?

I truly understand the allure of adapting video games into movies. Look at one of this summer’s big impending blockbusters, PRINCE OF PERSIA, which looks like it could be a really fun movie. However, some video games just don’t seem like they’d be as able to adapt as well as others, which is why the idea of an Avi Arad-produced PAC-MAN movie doesn’t sit well. Mickey Rourke joins the Hells Angels for Tony Scott film

THE WRESTLER threw Mickey Rourke back into the spotlight, making him one of the biggest actors in the industry. Now that he is wanted by everyone, he has the opportunity to be choosy about the roles he takes. It seems that one he has chosen will be Tony Scott’s next film, where he will be part of the Hells Angels Biker Gang. Continue reading “Mickey Rourke joins the Hells Angels for Tony Scott film”

Tim Gunn joins the already eclectic SMURFS cast

In some posts we are very tempted to work in someone’s catchphrase, we usually indulge into this because we think it will be fun. This was my first thought when reading the news that Project Runway co-host Tim Gunn was joining the cast of THE SMURFS. For the sake of credibility, I will avoid making any references to Gunn’s many catchphrases.

You can check out what role he’ll play after the break! Continue reading “Tim Gunn joins the already eclectic SMURFS cast”

Joel McHale cast in WHAT'S YOUR NUMBER? with Anna Faris

If you aren’t watching NBC’s new sitcom Community then you’re missing out on one of the funniest new shows to be on network television. The entire cast is fantastic, but the main lead Joel McHale is certainly the stand-out of the bunch.

Now it seems that movie studios are taking notice, as McHale recently joined MY BIG YEAR, and will now be a part of WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER? with Anna Faris. Continue reading “Joel McHale cast in WHAT'S YOUR NUMBER? with Anna Faris”

SWORDFISH and A-TEAM scribe to pen DIE HARD 5

The DIE HARD franchise has been a fan favorite since the first film was released in 1988, consequently catapulting its star Bruce Willis into the public eye. Two sequels were released, the first in 1990 and the second in 1995. But that wasn’t enough for ol’ John McClane though and, after a twelve year break from the franchise, another sequel came out in the form of the ultra-neutered LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD.

Now it seems that he might be coming back again, and a writer has been hired to make this happen. Continue reading “SWORDFISH and A-TEAM scribe to pen DIE HARD 5”

Hugo Weaving will play Red Skull in CAPTAIN AMERICA after all

Hugo Weaving Red Skull

Back in March, we started hearing rumblings that go-to bad guy, Hugo Weaving, was very likely to play The Red Skull in FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA. Just like Chris Evans for the role of CAPTAIN AMERICA, Marvel let the news make the rounds on the Internet before making any official announcement. Now we know with complete certainty that Weaving will be taking up the role. Continue reading “Hugo Weaving will play Red Skull in CAPTAIN AMERICA after all”

David O. Russell to adapt Uncharted video game?

If you have a Playstation 3 game console, and haven’t played through the Uncharted series you aren’t only missing out on one of the best gaming experiences of last year but possibly of this entire console generation. The series is known for its cinematic nature (something Sony made prevalent in their marketing campaign), and could be the biggest downfall of the project. Now director David O. Russell might be coming aboard to try and adapt the game franchise to film. Continue reading “David O. Russell to adapt Uncharted video game?”

GATW Podcast Ep. 7: Future of Marvel

IRON MAN 2 is practically here, and we figured there would be no better way to reign in one of the biggest summer blockbusters than to dedicate an entire episode to Marvel. The future of Marvel is so bright these days (and dare we say ambitiously so) that it’s gonna need shades.

You can check out this week’s episode and its synopsis after the break! Continue reading “GATW Podcast Ep. 7: Future of Marvel”
