THE SMURFS take Manhattan (UPDATED WITH THE TEASER TRAILER!)

Editor’s Note: UPDATED WITH THE TEASER TRAILER!

I know, most everyone is played out on the live action/CGI hybrid movie at this point because they usually aren’t as great as they should be. THE SMURFS, on the other hand, has always been on the better side of my thoughts, due to its wonderful casting choices and my love for the original cartoon.

We’ve gotten a look at Hank Azaria as Gargamel, but now we’re finally getting a peek at our three-apple-tall heroes. Check out the full image after the break! Continue reading “THE SMURFS take Manhattan (UPDATED WITH THE TEASER TRAILER!)”

Doug Liman off MUSKETEERS and onto ALL YOU NEED IS KILL?

Doug Liman’s THREE MUSKETEERS film is one that was very high on my “I’m so anxious for this movie, holy hell, I can’t wait,” list, because the once-underutilized property is very alluring to me. One of the main issues was that his MUSKETEERS film was competing against another MUSKETEERS movie being helmed by Paul W.S. Anderson.

Now it seems that Liman may have ducked out of the fray, and might be throwing his focus into another film. Continue reading “Doug Liman off MUSKETEERS and onto ALL YOU NEED IS KILL?”

Rick Grimes from "The Walking Dead" revealed

The Walking Dead is easily one of my most anticipated TV projects for this upcoming season. The onslaught of teasing has officially gone into full force, as it seems new photos are coming out constantly. A few weeks ago we got a couple of the first images of the zombies, then last week we got another. Now they finally gave us something meaty, with this image of Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, the prime protagonist.

You can check out the full image after the break. Continue reading “Rick Grimes from "The Walking Dead" revealed”

MGM and WB really want Peter Jackson to direct THE HOBBIT films

THE HOBBIT seems like a crazy mess right now, with rumors flying everywhere about who might take up the director’s chair now that Guillermo del Toro is no longer on the project. Just yesterday we reported that the studios behind the films, WB and MGM, were courting HARRY POTTER director David Yates to take up the mantle. This is still true according to today’s reports, but it appears he is second in the running, only behind Peter Jackson. "The end of an Era." HARRY POTTER completed filming over the weekend

If you’re a peer of mine, you probably grew up with the HARRY POTTER franchise being a major part of your childhood. The book series not only got many children interested in reading but also opened up their imaginations to an amazing magical world. The film series was a great addition to the franchise as it brought the amazing world to life. According to the legendary Warwick Davis’ Twitter, that time is over as the film series completed shooting last Saturday.

You can check out Warwick’s tweet after the break! Continue reading “"The end of an Era." HARRY POTTER completed filming over the weekend”

Breck Eisner to have Dracula duel Jack The Ripper

It is relatively common for Hollywood to make creative mash-up films, most releasing to mixed or bad reviews. Some that come to mind are ALIEN VS. PREDATOR and FREDDY VS. JASON, but thanks to Breck Eisner, director of THE CRAZIES, we might be getting the greatest mash-up film ever conceived.

BLOOD OF THE INNOCENT, which is based off a graphic novel by Mark Wheatly, will be pitting Dracula against Jack The Ripper. An odd pairing that could lead to a crazy and bloody good time. Continue reading “Breck Eisner to have Dracula duel Jack The Ripper”

GATW Podcast Ep. 13: TV to Film

I love it when a plan comes together! I also love making overtly obvious film references just because they are relevant! Said relevance comes from the fact that THE A-TEAM is kicking down the doors of your local cineplex to fill your eyes full with its Liam Neeson goodness. There’s no better way to ring in this summer movie than to talk about its roots, because it started as a television series. So we’re here to honor those shows that made it to the big screen, and name drop some of our favorites!

You can check out the episode and its synopsis after the break! Continue reading “GATW Podcast Ep. 13: TV to Film”

THE LAST AIRBENDER mythic animals revealed

THE LAST AIRBENDER is definitely one of the most brought up topics on the GATW Podcast, and is one of the most anticipated summer movies coming out. As a die hard fan of the original series Avatar: The Last Airbender, there are many nuances and small touches that are really important to me. One of these worries has been if they will nail the look and feel of the main creatures in film, Momo and Appa, and now we know for sure if they achieved the very lofty goal.

Just as a fair warning, these haven’t been given a good look in the trailers, so don’t click if you want to save the surprise! Continue reading “THE LAST AIRBENDER mythic animals revealed”

Another "The Walking Dead" zombie shows up

I’ve stayed cautious but still excited about AMC’s The Walking Dead since it was first announced. As a devout fan of the comic series, I have been very worried about how the content of the translation not being as graphic. This new image, along with the several that came out last week completely ruins that idea and prove that this is going to be a very graphic show.

You can check out the full image after the jump! Continue reading “Another "The Walking Dead" zombie shows up”

Shawn Hatosy to be a thorn in the side of "Dexter"

Shawn Hatosy may not be one of the biggest names out there, but when he shows up he tends to be consistently awesome (ALPHA DOG is proof enough). Although he is a regular on TNT’s Southland, it looks like he will be showing up on the opposite coast too. Hatosy has signed onto a multiple episode arc of the Showtime hit, Dexter.
