GATW Podcast Ep. 34: Lookin' Good

Darren Aronofsky is one of the most respected filmmakers working today. Time and time again, he brings us quality films that challenge the ideas of what a film should be and what a film can do. Usually he achieves this through some extremely visually striking film making.

This certainly seems to be the case with his most recent film, BLACK SWAN, which has just had its limited release. In honor of the film, we decided to go over some of the most visually striking films we love. You can check out the episode after the break! Continue reading “GATW Podcast Ep. 34: Lookin' Good”

Liam Neeson to reprise Zeus in WRATH OF THE TITANS

Though CLASH OF THE TITANS didn’t end up being a giant critical success, it did end up making a whole lot of money. Even so, when most of the cast decided to return for a sequel, it was kind of surprising. Now we have gotten the most surprising of them all, as Liam Neeson has decided to return for more.

Neeson will reprise his role of Zeus for the sequel. This is only surprising as he seems to be rather choosy about what films he does, with the exception of A-TEAM. He’s an actor who tries to perform at very high levels in everything he does, and goes for films that allow him to do that. That certainly wasn’t the first film, but could it be the second film? Continue reading “Liam Neeson to reprise Zeus in WRATH OF THE TITANS”

CW wants to bring DC's Raven to the small screen

This isn’t something that I readily admit, but there was a time in my life where I was pretty obsessed with Smallville. The show has since lost its fun and cheesiness, but the happy memories still remain. With the show coming to its end, it’s no surprise that the CW wants to replace Supes with another one of their many heroes.

It seems that now they might have made their choice. Continue reading “CW wants to bring DC's Raven to the small screen”

GATW Podcast Ep. 33: Accio Orca

The HARRY POTTER franchise has been a cultural phenomenon to the degree that we have never before seen. GATW Podcast Ep. 32: Beam Me Up Josh

Alien films have been a staple of cinema for pretty much its entire history, most especially so in the 1950’s. That is a trend that hasn’t changed much, as alien films are still just as prevalent even now. Even auteur Steven Spielberg has done several extra terrestrial films.

With the most recent alien film to hit the silver screen, SKYLINE, getting its release, we thought it would be fun to throw down on our favorite films that include any and all things alien. Hit the break to listen to the episode! Continue reading “GATW Podcast Ep. 32: Beam Me Up Josh”

Paul Giamatti in talks to join COSMOPOLIS

I’ve never hidden my love for anything and everything by David Cronenberg, a sentiment that is certainly shared with his upcoming film COSMOPOLIS. Although COSMOPOLIS still has a little while before it goes behind the camera, we are getting a lot of information about the casting of the film.

We already know that Colin Farrell and Marion Cotillard are taking the lead roles, and now it seems Paul Giamatti might also be joining the project. Continue reading “Paul Giamatti in talks to join COSMOPOLIS”

Mark Wahlberg no longer interested in THE CROW remake

Mark Wahlberg is one of those actors who will take up a role that can gain him much critical acclaim, and then immediately follow it up with something like MAX PAYNE. That seems exactly to be in line with how almost everyone felt about the possibility of his joining THE CROW remake, which he was rumored to take the lead role in. That was, until recently.

Hit the break to check out what he had to say about passing on the role. Continue reading “Mark Wahlberg no longer interested in THE CROW remake”
