Jason Segel has high hopes for FIVE-YEAR ENGAGEMENT

Jason Segel is the man, I’m not really sure there is any other way to describe him. Not only is he in one of my favorite sitcoms on television (How I Met Your Mother) and on the forefront of bringing back The Muppets, he is also still working hard at his extremely solid feature film comedic career.

His next big film to release after THE MUPPETS will be FIVE-YEAR ENGAGEMENT, a romantic comedy that is being written by both Segel and Nicholas Stoller. GATW Podcast Ep. 35: Adapt This

Adaptations are such a big part of Hollywood, as the flow of adaptations, remakes, and “reimaginings” has hit an all-time high. This inspired us to talk about some of our favorite adaptations and why we love them.

Don Hertzfeldt's WISDOM TEETH finally makes its way online

Don Hertzfeldt is a sick genius, I really don’t know any other way to put it. His short film, REJECTED, made quite the splash back in 2000 and took the film festival circuit by storm, catapulting him into the spotlight. Since then, he has had a steady flow of work, including his crazy animated Pop Tart commercials.

Author of THE LOST SYMBOL to rewrite the film adaptation

Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon series is a major cultural phenomenon in the book world that has been translated into a film series that doesn’t really pack the same punch. Just something about his stories have led them to be some of the best-selling books of all time.

Although the first two films (THE DAVINCI CODE and ANGELS & DEMONS) weren’t really as great as fans of the series were hoping, it looks like the studio might be trying to get it right this time with THE LOST SYMBOL. Sam Worthington claims WRATH OF THE TITANS will be better

CLASH OF THE TITANS didn’t really work out in the way that most of us were probably hoping it would. That hasn’t stopped them from planning the sequel, one that most viewers aren’t too anxious about. We do however, keep getting promises from the cast that this sequel will be a lot better.

Marvel's Jessica Jones headed to the small screen

Marvel characters like Jessica Jones are exactly the reason for my undying love of anything and everything Marvel. Some of you might be unfamiliar with who Jessica Jones is, as she isn’t one of the most well-known characters from the Marvel universe. She was created by Marvel’s go-to writer Brian Michael Bendis in his 2001 series Alias, and she was later worked into the more mainstream Marvel canon. So much so, that she actually had a high school crush on Peter Parker, and ended up marrying Luke Cage.

James Mangold to return to the Western

Director James Mangold, despite working pretty consistently for the past fifteen years, didn’t really break into the scene until 2005’s WALK THE LINE. After all the Oscar buzz the film received (and a Best Actress win for Reese Witherspoon), it was very obvious that his next film had to be even better.

2007 was the perfect year for said follow-up, and as we all remember, 2007 is probably one of the best years for cinema in recent memory. That follow-up was a remake of the 1957 Western classic 3:10 TO YUMA.

"24" film script rejected

Sorry, all you 24 fans out there, the film version of your beloved series might take a little bit longer than you were expecting to hit the big screen. The project, which seemed to be on the fast track after the show’s cancellation, seems to have hit a standstill.

Back in March we got word from Jack Bauer himself, Kiefer Sutherland, that the script to the film had been completed. That’s why it came as a shock when word got out today that the first version of the script has been rejected.

This news come from Assignment X, who convinced 24 executive producer, Howard Gordon, to reveal a little bit about the upcoming film. He then revealed that they felt Billy Ray’s script wasn’t up to snuff. He also revealed that though he is not involved with the project currently, director Tony Scott has a couple ideas for the film. George Clooney in talks to star in DeLorean biopic?

Biopics are a large part of the Hollywood film scene, and are typically some of the most remembered films come Oscar season. That makes it not very surprising that the biopic of John DeLorean, creator of the DMC-12 (most well-known for being the time machine in the BACK TO THE FUTURE trilogy), is looking to get a big name actor involved. It seems like they’ve got their pick made with George Clooney, who is reportedly in talks for the role, but will it work out?

The story of John DeLorean is full of ups and downs, as when his company filed for bankruptcy and he turned to a life of crime and began drug trafficking. This led to him being arrested in 1982. Holy Mjolnir, new THOR poster!

Hey there Marvelites! While the ultimate fate of the THOR film is still to be determined, Marvel is doing a pretty fantastic job hyping the film up. The only thing missing from the whole equation was a theatrical poster (and an official trailer, which will hit sometime this afternoon), which we now have. This poster absolutely proves that sometimes simpler is better.
