Update time for the new Pee-wee film

For any other Pee-wee fans out there, you’ve probably been wondering what happened to that Judd Apatow produced Pee-wee film that was supposedly in the works. It was a project that seemed to be on the fast track, especially considering the blockbuster potential of most Apatow films. Then, it seemed to disappear.

Lucky for us, the film is still happening, and we are finally getting a real update on the status of the film. Check it out after the break! Continue reading “Update time for the new Pee-wee film”

SCREAM 4 plot synopsis revealed

The opening of SCREAM 4 is right around the corner, and before we know it we’ll be back with Sidney and the gang in Woodsboro. Little has been known about the upcoming sequel, aside from some very basic facts.

With a test screening approaching, it was about time that a synopsis should be revealed. Unfortnately, that synopsis doesn’t really have much to say, but it’s good to have nonetheless. You can check out the full synopsis after the break. Continue reading “SCREAM 4 plot synopsis revealed”

JACKASS 3 campaigning for Best Picture

JACKASS 3D was quite a marvel that should have been seen by all that are age appropriate. It is hilarious, disturbing, and enthralling in almost all aspects. Although it was joked in its pre-release that it was the most revolutionary 3D since AVATAR, this may not have been too far off the mark.

With all this being said, it only makes sense that the film would see a campaign to nominate the film for Best Picture, right? Right? Continue reading “JACKASS 3 campaigning for Best Picture”

Sundance 2011: Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend scoring brother's first feature, SOUND OF MY VOICE

When your brother has blown up on the music scene with his band’s most recent album, including smashing its way onto the Billboard Hot 200 at number one, it probably isn’t a bad idea to have him score your first feature film. That is certainly the case for Zal Batmanglij, brother of Vampire Weekend member Rostam Batmanglij.

The film in question is called SOUND OF MY VOICE, and it chronicles what happens when a couple joins a cult in California, particularly following their interactions with the cult’s leader. With a concept as interesting and intriguing as this, I can only wonder what Rostam’s score will sound like, especially since Vampire Weekend is known for their pop nature. Is Casper, the world's friendliest ghost, returning to the big screen?

I remember seeing the CASPER movie in theaters as a kiddo and loving every second of it. My grandma had previously introduced me to the character, so it was only fitting that she was the one to take me to see it. That viewing was only topped by the many VHS viewings I had in the following years.

It seems that Casper might be making his big screen return, as Classic Media is taking a chance at rebooting the franchise. Continue reading “Is Casper, the world's friendliest ghost, returning to the big screen?”

UNCHARTED might be back on the right track

The Unchartedseries is easily the mainstay series for the Playstation 3 to myself and many other gamers. The first game came out of nowhere and gave us a fast-paced action platformer built to perfection. Little did we know that two years later, they would give us a sequel that would somehow eclipse the original significantly.

That’s why it wasn’t very surprising when a film adaptation was first announced, it seemed to make so much sense. Since then, the production of the film has been like a roller-coaster ride of retractions and hearsay. Now we are getting news that a lot of the things we had heard about the film that was worrisome, might not have been so true. Continue reading “UNCHARTED might be back on the right track”

Gemma Arterton talks CAPA, co-starring Andrew Garfield

Gemma Arterton is a very hard-working actress, and looking at her list of upcoming films is proof of that. She made quite a splash when she appeared in QUANTUM OF SOLACE (which marked my first time seeing her work), and has since been constantly busy.

Although she has a lot coming down the pipeline, she felt the need to share a little bit about her upcoming film with Michael Mann, CAPA, where she will co-star with SPIDER-MAN himself, Andrew Garfield. Check out what she had to say after the break! Continue reading “Gemma Arterton talks CAPA, co-starring Andrew Garfield”

Mickey Rourke speaks on his film about rugby player Gareth Thomas

I don’t think you are going out on a limb when you claim that Mickey Rourke is a pretty astounding actor. Since his big return in THE WRESTLER, he has continually surprised us with his performances, even in his more mainstream fare.

He seems to be open for just about any role he seems fit, as he is set to play Gareth Thomas, an openly gay rugby player that is 22 years younger than he. Hit the break to see what Rourke had to say about the role! Continue reading “Mickey Rourke speaks on his film about rugby player Gareth Thomas”
