Adrianne Palicki takes up the role of "Wonder Woman" for NBC

Wonder Woman is one of the main staples of the DC comics universe, yet sometimes gets overlooked as such. Several years ago, Joss Whedon was hard at work trying to bring her to the big screen, in an attempt that didn’t pan out so well. This left her behind as Superman, Green Lantern, and Batman hit the golden screen.

NBC is, however, working on bringing us a new Wonder Woman TV series, and word is out that Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights) will be taking up the mantle from the unforgettable Lynda Carter. Continue reading “Adrianne Palicki takes up the role of "Wonder Woman" for NBC”

Robin McLeavy cast as Mary Todd in ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER

It’s no secret that THE LOVED ONES is a huge hit over at GATW, with Rusty giving the film a perfect score in his review. One of the best parts of the film is the work by Robin McLeavy as Lola, “The Princess.” She crafted one of the creepiest, scariest horror performances I’ve seen in years, catapulting the film from great to unforgettable.

Now she looks to be getting her shot at making a splash in the U.S., as she has just been cast in the role of Mary Todd in ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER. Continue reading “Robin McLeavy cast as Mary Todd in ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER”

Second CLASH OF THE TITANS film to be moved up one week

A sequel to last year’s CLASH OF THE TITANS is on its way, but luckily we do have reasons to be excited. The cast and crew seem to be really excited about the film, as Liam Neeson as decided to come back for more and Sam Worthington felt he needed to assure us it’ll be better than the original.

The second film now has been pushed up one week to March 23, 2012, and is set to be released the same day as THE HUNGER GAMES. Continue reading “Second CLASH OF THE TITANS film to be moved up one week”

Selena Gomez to take on a dark film in 13 REASONS WHY

Being a Disney star can be a pretty tough road to break away from, and in the past many of their biggest stars have found themselves stuck in a typecast series of roles. It seems that Selena Gomez might be joining the ranks of Shia LaBeouf by breaking away from that scene with a role that is much darker than she is accustomed to in 13 REASONS WHY.

The story is an adaptation of a novel by Jay Asher, and follows a high schooler who decides to take her own life, but leaves cassette tapes that explain to thirteen different people how they factored into her death. It’s nice to see that Selena is willing to be a little more daring with her choices in roles, it very well could give some attention from the more mainstream public. Blake Lively to take on Carrie Bradshaw in SEX AND THE CITY prequel?

I think it’s a pretty fair assessment to say that Blake Lively has officially made it in both the film and TV realms. After taking up roles in such films as THE TOWN and the upcoming GREEN LANTERN, as well as her most famous role as Serena van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl, we can only imagine that she will be a staple of future entertainment.

To even further substantiate this, there are rumblings that she very well could take up the mantle of Carrie Bradshaw of the ridiculously popular SEX AND THE CITY franchise in a prequel.

The prequel would follow Carrie’s teenage years as depicted in Candace Bushnell’s The Carrie Diaries, which leads us right up to Blake Lively who is seemingly obvious, yet perfect casting. Now that I’ve imagined Lively in the role, it proves quite difficult to imagine anyone else in the role. Continue reading “Blake Lively to take on Carrie Bradshaw in SEX AND THE CITY prequel?”

PET SEMETARY to get the remake treatment

WhenI was a kiddo, garage sales used to be the best place to get movies from. Aside from the fact that you could generally find gems for somewhere around fifty cents, they also didn’t have any qualms selling R-rated movies to children. This is where my love for PET SEMETARY began.

Now that the world has evolved into this remake-loving culture, it only makes sense that they would want to hit on Stephen King’s work. This project and the IT remake are definite proof there is interest. Continue reading “PET SEMETARY to get the remake treatment”

JOHN CARTER OF MARS update from Andrew Stanton

There’s a little bug going around that’s pulling some of Pixar’s biggest directors out of the animation world and placing them firmly in live-action land. First, we have THE INCREDIBLES director Brad Bird directing MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL, and now we have FINDING NEMO and WALL-E director Andrew Stanton bringing JOHN CARTER OF MARS to the big screen.

Although principal photography is complete on JOHN CARTER, Stanton is now in what he is calling digital principal photography, claiming this stage will take the rest of the year. Continue reading “JOHN CARTER OF MARS update from Andrew Stanton”
