New picture from Disney's RAPUNZEL

Rapunzel
After Disney’s triumphant return to traditional animation with THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG, it is a little surprising to see them make another computer-generated feature. At the same time, this new image shows us that they are trying to capture the classic Disney look and feel, something that CG films like CHICKEN LITTLE have been missing.

This full magazine spread is gorgeous and gives us a better idea as to what RAPUNZEL will look like. You can see the rest of the image after the jump! Continue reading “New picture from Disney's RAPUNZEL”

DVD Review: FACING ALI

Facing Ali

Film rating: 7/10
DVD rating: 3/10

Director: Pete McCormack
Studio: Lionsgate

FACING ALI is a documentary that doesn’t take the usual approach to telling Muhammad Ali’s story. In fact, very little of the film is actually about his personal life. This film focuses mainly on his most historic fights, and the boxers who faced him. It features some of the biggest names in boxing at the time, such as George Chuvalo, Joe Fraizer, and George Foreman (yes, the grill guy). Continue reading “DVD Review: FACING ALI”

GHOSTBUSTERS III filming schedule rumors

Ghostbusters

Yeah yeah, I know. There are so many GHOSTBUSTERS III rumors going around, most of which are caused by things said by the principal cast of the series. What can you really believe at this point? Regardless, the fan boy inside of me insisted that I share this bit of news.

This time, it was Harold Ramis who had something to say about the (hopefully) upcoming film. Check out what he had to share after the jump! Continue reading “GHOSTBUSTERS III filming schedule rumors”

STAR TREK 2 set to begin filming in late 2010

Star Trek

Needless to say, STAR TREK was a huge hit among fans and an enormous financial success. It was very obvious after the movie so resonated with fans that a sequel would eventually come. Now we know just when we might expect it.

Zoe Saldana, who starred as Uhura in the recent STAR TREK film, let out a little tidbit while speaking with MTV about AVATAR. Continue reading “STAR TREK 2 set to begin filming in late 2010”

Oscars

With the 82nd Academy Awards quickly approaching, it was about time that the Oscar nomination ballots would be sent out. This year, the Oscars will be a little bit different. We previously posted about how the Academy has upped the Best Picture category from five films to ten. Soon, we will find out what ten made the cut, as Oscar voters make their nominations. Warner Bros. is most profitable studio this year

Warner Bros

Well, I don’t know if this surprises anyone after the string of high quality hits Warner Bros. Pictures has had come out in the past year. The HARRY POTTER series alone constantly brings in at least $800 million worldwide per release. With all the other releases they’ve had this year, such as THE HANGOVER (which basically printed money), they have easily acquired this top position. CAPTAIN AMERICA to begin filming in June

CAPTAIN AMERICA

Aside from Hawkeye and Spider-Man, Captain America is one of my favorite Marvel heroes. You can’t even imagine my excitement when FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA was announced. I immediately had a rush of images and ideas about what the film would be like.

Then they admitted that the film would take place during World War II before Cap is frozen, and then The Avengers would find him in the AVENGERS film.  Continue reading “CAPTAIN AMERICA to begin filming in June”

New Japanese TEKKEN poster

TEKKEN cut

TEKKEN was probably one of the first Playstation games I owned. I used to always have my friends over to play, and we would have bracketed tournaments. And,just like every great video game series, a movie version of TEKKEN is being soon-to-be-released.

Most video game movies make fans sigh and wonder why Hollywood bothered (STREET FIGHTER), others make fans jump with excitement because they look so good (PRINCE OF PERSIA). Nobody knows with TEKKEN, though, because we don’t know much about it. TEKKEN is set for release in Japan in March 6th, 2010 by Warner Bros., but this poster might create some buzz in the states. You can check out the poster after the jump! Continue reading “New Japanese TEKKEN poster”

Christoph Waltz is in THE TALKING CURE

Christoph-Waltz

After INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS came out, everybody was talking about Christoph Waltz. It was almost unanimously agreed that he was the stand-out performance in a movie full of stand-out performances. It’s also been said that he is a shoo-in for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar. But now we don’t need to worry about Waltz’s career beyond Oscar buzz, because he is lining up projects and isn’t going anywhere. Continue reading “Christoph Waltz is in THE TALKING CURE”

New SHUTTER ISLAND poster

SHUTTER ISLAND cut

SHUTTER ISLAND, you had me at Scorsese. We have had so many different things come out in promotion for SHUTTER ISLAND. Of course, this movie is getting a lot of buzz for not only being a new Scorsese film, but also being another Scorsese film starring Leonardo DiCaprio. They previously did GANGS OF NEW YORK, THE AVIATOR, and THE DEPARTED together.

This new poster just seems like the studio wants to remind us that the movie is still coming, as the film was recently delayed. The poster is nothing too special but still worth a peek, which you can get after the jump! Continue reading “New SHUTTER ISLAND poster”
