Video Interview: Ben McKenzie ("Southland")

I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t an avid fan of “The O.C.,” I watched the show religiously throughout its run. So when I was presented the opportunity to interview Ben McKenzie (Ryan Atwood on the show), I of course accepted. And it was a pleasure, because he was incredibly nice and gracious. I made the offhand comment that this was my first interview, and he loved it. After his attempt to make me nervous (jokingly), we did the interview. Continue reading “Video Interview: Ben McKenzie ("Southland")”

John Malkovich confirms role as The Vulture

Although reports are that SPIDER-MAN 4 is in production hell right now, we have to remember that it is still happening. Many fans (including myself) are worried about the product of the fourth Spidey flick, because of the awful 3rd film. It seems Sony is taking a note from the Marvel Studios playbook, and casting a renowned actor in one of the main roles.

John Malkovich confirmed that he will be The Vulture in SPIDER-MAN 4. Malkovich is reportedly waiting on a final script for the film, which currently is the subject of the film’s delay. Hopefully, Raimi and Sony can reach a deal soon so they can get the film under way. Continue reading “John Malkovich confirms role as The Vulture”

BIG MOMMA'S HOUSE 3 has a director…really?

I understand why BIG MOMMA’S HOUSE 3 is being made, it’s because the first two made a lot of money. But still, it pains me to see that a third one is being made after the atrocity that was the second. Well, regardless of many people’s ill feelings toward the project, it is being made and now has a director. Continue reading “BIG MOMMA'S HOUSE 3 has a director…really?”

Theatrical Review: LEAP YEAR

Rating: 4/10

Writers: Deborah Kaplan, Harry Elfont
Director: Anand Tucker
Cast: Amy Adams, Matthew Goode, Adam Scott, John Lithgow
Studio: Universal

I’m going to be completely honest, I adore Amy Adams. I think she is one of the most impressive actresses out there these days, and time after time she has not let me down. Not to mention the critical acclaim she receives for almost every performance she does. Sadly, this was not one of those performances. Yeah, the movie didn’t look all that great from the trailer, but I did expect more since Adams was the lead. She wasn’t completely awful in it, it’s most likely the bad writing that makes her character feel so stale. Continue reading “Theatrical Review: LEAP YEAR”

Since SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE came out, people have been going crazy over what Danny Boyle’s next project might be. Awhile back, it was confirmed to be 127 HOURS, the true story of mountaineer Aron Rolston, who amputated his own arm to free himself from a boulder that landed on him.

HBO has always been ahead of the curve, and time after time they have brought us quality television shows. Not to mention the countless Emmy Awards their programming as been nominated for. Now they have turned to two heavy hitters to bring them another show.

HBO has picked up a series that is to be executive produced by Michael Mann (PUBLIC ENEMIES, THE INSIDER) and David Milch (“Deadwood”), titled “Luck.”  It will focus on the lives of people involved with a racetrack and gambling. Milch previously created “Deadwood” for HBO, which went on to be a success and an Emmy winner. Continue reading “Michael Mann and David Milch have some "Luck"”

DEADPOOL spin-off penned by ZOMBIELAND writers

I was so excited to hear that Ryan Reynolds was cast as Deadpool in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, only to be disappointed when he had very little screen time. I won’t even get into how much I hated the direction they took for the “Merc with a Mouth.” It looks like they want to get back on track with the DEADPOOL spin-off movie.
