WALL STREET: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS gets a teaser

The original WALL STREET film was a critical and financial success when it was released in 1987. When the sequel was first announced it lead to both fan excitement and unrest. The main selling point is that Michael Douglas will be reprising what is arguably his best role ever, one that led him to win the Oscar for Best Actor.

Now we are getting a first look as to what to expect from the film in this teaser. It doesn’t reveal the plot at all, mainly just that Gordon Gekko gets out of prison at the beginning. And there are some shots of Shia LeBeouf interacting with Douglas. Continue reading “WALL STREET: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS gets a teaser”

Zac Efron to star in Brian Michael Bendis' FIRE?

Brian Michael Bendis is arguably one of the best and most appreciated comic book authors working today. Before he became Marvel’s go-to writer, he made a name for himself writing independent mystery and thriller books. Now one of those graphic novels will hit the big screen, and is likely to star Zac Efron. Continue reading “Zac Efron to star in Brian Michael Bendis' FIRE?”

Character concept art from GREEN LANTERN

In the past couple of years, GREEN LANTERN has become one of DC’s flagship series. What was once an old and tired idea and character has been revitalized thanks to the brilliant writing of Geoff Johns. As we all know, there is a GREEN LANTERN movie on its way that is being directed by Martin Campbell. Now we have somewhat of an idea what the film’s visual style will look like, as some concept art has come out of Kilowog and Tomar-Re.

You can check out the concept art after the jump! Continue reading “Character concept art from GREEN LANTERN”

Kevin Feige has now revealed exactly who will be in THE AVENGERS, and ultimately created another interesting theory. Check out what he had to say, and the theory that has come about after the jump! Continue reading “Kevin Feige reveals what AVENGERS will be in the film”

Empire's fold-out cover is KICK-ASS

I know, I should be tired of the endless onslaught of KICK-ASS posters, trailers, pictures, and other marketing promotions they have done. But the movie looks so incredibly kick-ass that every single thing that is released gets me doubly stoked. Now Empire wants their shot at the KICK-ASS hype train, and they deliver big (daddy) time.

Empire has released pictures of their upcoming March issue that will include a fold-out cover featuring some of the main heroes. The cover features Kick-Ass, Hit-Girl, and Big Daddy on an extremely stylized cover. I usually wouldn’t pick up a magazine for this sort of thing, but it looks really awesome. This film is easily one of this year’s films that I am most excited to see.

You can check out the all the pictures of the cover after the jump! Continue reading “Empire's fold-out cover is KICK-ASS”

Samuel L. Jackson unsure of his Marvel future?

To me, one of the biggest film shocks of 2008 was when Nick Fury showed up after the credits of IRON MAN. I was so excited after seeing that scene that I actually got a speeding ticket on my way home from the theater. That scene was the start of something much bigger for Sam Jackson and his version of Nick Fury, including no less than a nine picture deal with Marvel to reprise Nick Fury in future movies. Lionsgate will distribute Sundance 2010's BURIED

BURIED just premiered at Sundance the other day to rave reviews (in fact, you can see ours HERE). I don’t know too much about the film since I haven’t seen it yet, but I think it is better that way. I’d much rather be surprised when I do.

Luckily, Lionsgate has picked the film up for distribution, so it will be heading our way in no time. Continue reading “Lionsgate will distribute Sundance 2010's BURIED”

Interview: Jonathan Mostow (director, SURROGATES)

Last Wednesday, I was part of a virtual roundtable with SURROGATES director Jonathan Mostow. It was a very interesting process and went on for about two hours. Since it was so long we got a lot of good questions about the film and the upcoming Blu-ray release.

We also got a first look at a special feature that will be included in the Blu-ray – an in-depth look at robotics and how they inspired the movie. It includes information about how real life robotics specifically inspired the special effects and make-up and  shows just how much working they’re putting into the Blu-ray.

Since there were over 65 questions, I compiled some of my favorites. You can see them after the jump! Continue reading “Interview: Jonathan Mostow (director, SURROGATES)”

Harvey Weinstein's letter to THIN BLUE LINE directer Errol Morris

Harvey Weinstein is known for being very outspoken, and he won’t censor himself for anybody. Oftentimes this can be a hilarious trait, but at the expense of others. This is certainly one of those times when Weinstein did something pretty outlandish that is also extremely funny.

Back in 1988, Weinstein wrote a letter to Errol Morris, who directed the documentary THE THIN BLUE LINE, which went on to become a critical hit. Harvey felt that Morris was not selling the film correctly, and called him out on it. Whether or not you think Harvey was right in doing this, I’m still tickled.

You can check out the full letter after the jump! Continue reading “Harvey Weinstein's letter to THIN BLUE LINE directer Errol Morris”

GREMLINS to terrorize your town in 3D?

There has been talk of a GREMLINS 3 for a very long time now, much to the chagrin of fans. Many fans have claimed that they would only be interested in the film if Joe Dante (director of the first two GREMLINS films) returned, and feelings were otherwise extremely mixed.

Now the rumor is that GREMLINS will be back, and taking the jump into the 3rd dimension. Continue reading “GREMLINS to terrorize your town in 3D?”
