A couple of months ago we reported that THE NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET director Samuel Bayer was interested in bringing Garth Ennis’ THE BOYS to the big screen. After that reports of the project faded away, and nothing was left but a memory. News is now surfacing that Sony might have a different director in mind, one you would never expect. No seriously, you would never expect him… seriously. Continue reading “Adam McKay to direct THE BOYS?”

Fox has "Glee" actors contracted for three films
It’s no secret that I’m a “Gleek,” (although I would never call myself that normally) and I tuned in for every episode of Glee, and was always anxious for my next fix. The show really caught my eye when I realized how well they blend the more dramatic aspects of the show with some really absurd comedy. Now our Glee need (Gleed?) could become a little overwhelmed as news is coming out that the cast is contracted for three films based on the series. Continue reading “Fox has "Glee" actors contracted for three films”
Official website for PUSS IN BOOTS is up
Although SHREK FOREVER AFTER is still showing at many theaters, DreamWorks is already gearing up for the release of PUSS IN BOOTS that is set to be premiere next November. The website also surprisingly introduces a new character and has some plot information. Although it seems really early for this site, it is interesting to see the direction the film will take. GATW Podcast Ep. 14: 15 Years of Pixar
Pixar has been known for not only being one of the most creative studios still working today, but has continually put out high quality films. The scope of their success is incredible, and they are bringing their filmography full circle with the second sequel to TOY STORY. The release of TOY STORY 3 proves that their reach transcends generations, since it appeals to kids and adults who were kids when the original was released.
You can hit the break to check out the episode and its synopsis! Continue reading “GATW Podcast Ep. 14: 15 Years of Pixar”
Leonardo DiCaprio will be J. Edgar Hoover
A couple of months ago we caught wind of some speculation saying that Leonardo DiCaprio might be portraying J. Edgar Hoover in Clint Eastwood’s still-untitled biopic of the first Director of the FBI. Yet, after that, news about the project virtually stopped altogether, leaving us anxious and curious for more.
Now it’s finally official, DiCaprio has accepted the role, which should set this project in high gear. Continue reading “Leonardo DiCaprio will be J. Edgar Hoover”
Beast will be played by Benjamin Walker in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS
X-MEN: FIRST CLASS is quickly shaping up to be a really interesting, and possibly really great, project. The casting, such as James McAvoy playing a young Professor X are easy casting announcements to get behind. Although this casting announcement isn’t a big name, he will play one of my favorite X-Men who is often underutilized in the stories of today. Continue reading “Beast will be played by Benjamin Walker in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS”
Alex Garland set to pen the new LOGAN'S RUN
It was just a couple weeks ago when we found out that the new LOGAN’S RUN film was still on track, and was being shot and concieved for 3D. Aside from that and the fact that Carl Erik Rinsch, protege of Ridley Scott was most likely to direct, not too much else was known about the upcoming feature. Now they have hired a very fitting screenwriter to pen the film, proving once again that a lot of care is going into making this film. Continue reading “Alex Garland set to pen the new LOGAN'S RUN”
THE SMURFS take Manhattan (UPDATED WITH THE TEASER TRAILER!)
Editor’s Note: UPDATED WITH THE TEASER TRAILER!
I know, most everyone is played out on the live action/CGI hybrid movie at this point because they usually aren’t as great as they should be. THE SMURFS, on the other hand, has always been on the better side of my thoughts, due to its wonderful casting choices and my love for the original cartoon.
We’ve gotten a look at Hank Azaria as Gargamel, but now we’re finally getting a peek at our three-apple-tall heroes. Check out the full image after the break! Continue reading “THE SMURFS take Manhattan (UPDATED WITH THE TEASER TRAILER!)”
Doug Liman off MUSKETEERS and onto ALL YOU NEED IS KILL?
Doug Liman’s THREE MUSKETEERS film is one that was very high on my “I’m so anxious for this movie, holy hell, I can’t wait,” list, because the once-underutilized property is very alluring to me. One of the main issues was that his MUSKETEERS film was competing against another MUSKETEERS movie being helmed by Paul W.S. Anderson.
Now it seems that Liman may have ducked out of the fray, and might be throwing his focus into another film. Continue reading “Doug Liman off MUSKETEERS and onto ALL YOU NEED IS KILL?”
Rick Grimes from "The Walking Dead" revealed
The Walking Dead is easily one of my most anticipated TV projects for this upcoming season. The onslaught of teasing has officially gone into full force, as it seems new photos are coming out constantly. A few weeks ago we got a couple of the first images of the zombies, then last week we got another. Now they finally gave us something meaty, with this image of Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, the prime protagonist.
You can check out the full image after the break. Continue reading “Rick Grimes from "The Walking Dead" revealed”
