Everyone is really happy and excited that THE AVENGERS is finally coming to fruition, especially comic lovers like myself. Unfortunately for us, we know very little about film, aside from casting and Joss Whedon’s direction. A couple months ago, we got word that Doug Liman had dropped out of production of his take on The Three Musketeers and was supposedly on a film called ALL YOU NEED IS KILL. The film was an interesting fit for Liman, but one that could potentially turn into something incredible. From the looks of it, Warner Bros. agrees, as they have hired him as director.
The film is said to be like “GROUNDHOG DAY meets STARSHIP TROOPERS,” as a young soldier must relive a battle against an alien force over and over. Usually my favorite performances out of comedic actors hit the screen when they take on roles in small independent features. Zach Braff has done it, Bill Murray repeatedly does, and you don’t want to get me started on when Jim Carrey does.

SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD has finally arrived, and smashed it’s way into the hearts of everyone who saw it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t nearly as many people as it really could have used. Regardless of this, we dish our thoughts on the film and it’s box office performance. Then we have a little follow-up to our Summer episode, and talk about all the upcoming Fall films. There were lots of promising films coming up, and it’s looking to be one hell of a Fall season.

I don’t care what anybody says, SON-IN-LAW is one of my favorite all-time comedy films. Largely in part that it introduced me to the beautiful and extremely talented Carla Gugino. Anytime she shows up in a film or television show, she instantly catches my attention. Now we will be able to see her in a new film, one that probably has the most inventively fun title ever. Liam Neeson is an actor who could convincingly pull off any role, and wow us while he is at it. This is exactly why the prospect of him starring in John Woo’s most recent American film is one of the most interesting casting ideas in a long time. Although Angelina Jolie’s last flick SALT didn’t exactly resonate with the general public the way it was expected to, she is still one of the biggest names in the business.
