Sam Raimi to produce R.L. Stine's "The Sitter"

sam_raimi

Hot off the heels of discovering that my favorite childhood book series, Goosebumps, would be making its way towards the big screen we find out that we might be getting more R.L. Stine than first expected. News is now out that another one of his books, titled The Sitter, will also be getting the silver screen treatment.

The film version will be titled THE AU PAIR, and Sam Raimi seems to think that it will make a great film, as he is producing. Many people don’t realize that R.L. Stine has had a successful career outside of Goosebumps churning out a pretty large library of books. If THE AU PAIR proves to be successful, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if more adaptations of his work came to pass. Think Nicholas Sparks but creepier. Third BATMAN film to begin filming in April?

There is so much mystery shrouding the next BATMAN film by Chris Nolan, and virtually nothing is known about the upcoming film, other than the returning cast.

Michael Caine has been more than happy to yap a bit about the project, although he has been known to be less than credible. Now we may know something for sure, and that would be when and where the film will commence filming. Continue reading “Third BATMAN film to begin filming in April?”

Video game film, JUST CAUSE, on its way

Video game movies are always hit-or-miss, and some make a lot more sense than others. Fans are always up in arms over the latest translation of their favorite series, hoping that the next one can finally be right. The most recent one to be hitting the big screen will be JUST CAUSE, based off the balls-to-the-wall game series of the same name.

For those who aren’t familiar with the series, the game features an open sandbox environment where destruction is your main goal, and chaotic stunts ensue. Fear for the upcoming film is something I can certainly relate with, but I feel there is proof that this film could be good. Continue reading “Video game film, JUST CAUSE, on its way”

It seems like we are having a new name being thrown into the “Who will end up playing Mary Jane Watson in the upcoming SPIDER-MAN reboot pot” every single day. Interestingly enough, they are finally getting into actresses that seem to be a lot more interesting for the role.

The other day, they finally added the obvious choice, Emma Stone, into the running. Now they’ve got another actress going at it that fits the bill really well. Continue reading “Pick Mary Jane already; Dianna Agron now being considered for SPIDER-MAN reboot”

Rachel Bilson joins BFF AND BABY

Since the cancellation of The O.C. and the subsequent end to her portrayal of the unforgettable Summer Roberts, Rachel Bilson has done a lot of supporting roles in television, but hasn’t done much in the film world. 2008’s JUMPER was her last foray into film, but it has left her hungry for more. Now she’s got her chance.

Bilson is set to play a part in BFF AND BABY, a film co-written by Krysten Ritter, who recently appeared in SHE’S OUT OF MY LEAGUE and will be starring in Amy Heckerling’s next film VAMPS. The film is the story of a woman who gets pregnant (Ritter), and what happens when she and her best friend try their hardest not to let their lives change.
