CW wants to bring DC's Raven to the small screen

This isn’t something that I readily admit, but there was a time in my life where I was pretty obsessed with Smallville. The show has since lost its fun and cheesiness, but the happy memories still remain. With the show coming to its end, it’s no surprise that the CW wants to replace Supes with another one of their many heroes.

It seems that now they might have made their choice. Continue reading “CW wants to bring DC's Raven to the small screen”

GATW Podcast Ep. 32: Beam Me Up Josh

Alien films have been a staple of cinema for pretty much its entire history, most especially so in the 1950’s. That is a trend that hasn’t changed much, as alien films are still just as prevalent even now. Even auteur Steven Spielberg has done several extra terrestrial films.

With the most recent alien film to hit the silver screen, SKYLINE, getting its release, we thought it would be fun to throw down on our favorite films that include any and all things alien. Hit the break to listen to the episode! Continue reading “GATW Podcast Ep. 32: Beam Me Up Josh”

Paul Giamatti in talks to join COSMOPOLIS

I’ve never hidden my love for anything and everything by David Cronenberg, a sentiment that is certainly shared with his upcoming film COSMOPOLIS. Although COSMOPOLIS still has a little while before it goes behind the camera, we are getting a lot of information about the casting of the film.

We already know that Colin Farrell and Marion Cotillard are taking the lead roles, and now it seems Paul Giamatti might also be joining the project. Continue reading “Paul Giamatti in talks to join COSMOPOLIS”

Mark Wahlberg no longer interested in THE CROW remake

Mark Wahlberg is one of those actors who will take up a role that can gain him much critical acclaim, and then immediately follow it up with something like MAX PAYNE. That seems exactly to be in line with how almost everyone felt about the possibility of his joining THE CROW remake, which he was rumored to take the lead role in. That was, until recently.

Hit the break to check out what he had to say about passing on the role. Continue reading “Mark Wahlberg no longer interested in THE CROW remake”

First image of Karl Urban as Judge Dredd

We all remember Sly Stallone’s 1995 JUDGE DREDD film, mostly from a negative point of view. Since then, fans have been craving a newer, better, more true-to-the-comics film. A while back, we found out that would be a reality, and that Karl Urban would be donning the helmet.

Even though the film is still pretty far off, we are already getting our first shot of Urban in the role, which you can see above. Continue reading “First image of Karl Urban as Judge Dredd”

Denis Leary joins SPIDER-MAN cast

The floodgates of information on the new SPIDER-MAN film have officially opened the past couple of weeks, and every day it seems new information is beginning to come out about the film. Now we are starting to get information about some of the background characters in the film. One of those roles, that of Police Captain George Stacy, father to Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), will be portrayed by sometimes funny-man Denis Leary.

Leary is one of those actors who can completely encapsulate a role to a fault. He can convincingly take up a comedic role or a dramatic role and pull you in completely. He’s proven that time and time again, between his past comedic works, and his impressive work on Rescue Me. Continue reading “Denis Leary joins SPIDER-MAN cast”

SUPERBAD writers to re-write NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen are turning into pretty much an unstoppable comedy writing force, one that has yet to have a mis-step. With such credits as SUPERBAD, PINEAPPLE EXPRESS, and upcoming THE GREEN HORNET under their belts, it makes sense that they would be brought on to a revive a floundering comedy from the grave. That little film just so happens to be NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH.

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH is a film that once had Ruben Fleischer attached to it, about group of men who comprise their Neighborhood Watch group who ultimately come across a plot to end the world. Seems like a fitting story to hand off to Goldberg and Rogen. Continue reading “SUPERBAD writers to re-write NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH”
